In the dimly lit old warehouse stood two people, speaking casually in the center, both wearing black uniforms with red 'R's on the chest. The man who spoke more often, Rayne, was cheerfully filling Alexis in on what she would be doing. "It's quite simple my lowly grunt," he said with a grin, "we need you to go downtown and pick up a "payment" from the Pokemart." As Rayne finished speaking, he casually wandered over to a pile of junk in the old warehouse. "Don't mess up Grunt, and you should go far here." With a smile, Rayne turned to the pile of junk as it slid back, revealing a small elevator, which he stepped on before sinking into the ground.

With her orders given, Alexis turned to the doorway leading out of the warehouse. Outside, the dark streets of Calvent City were only lit by dim stars and street lights, perfect for getting to the Pokemart before people realize her uniform, she hoped.

The grunt's eyes carefully examined her surroundings once more now that she was outside, just to make sure there was nothing and no one already observing her. This mission seemed simple enough, she reflected; a routine burglary... Getting there unnoticed with a giant R screaming across your chest, she assumed, would be the most difficult part.

Carefully, she bent down to remove her shoes, before slipping one into each of her pants pockets. Like her face and forearms, her feet were carefully and tightly wrapped in black bandages. As she took a deep breath, she focused on the area ahead of her... before abruptly whisking off into the darkness, every footstep muffled yet her speed swift. Hopefully should anyone see her, they wouldn't second-guess her choice of attire until she was already gone...

Hugging the shadows as best as the streets enabled her, Alexis kept an eye out for the PokéMart in question...

As Alexis started her sprint down the streets of Calvent, little attention was paid to her by the people out late this night. As she neared downtown though, she opted to take more back streets and alleys to avoid the brighter lights of the city. Finally stopping to catch her breath, Alexis saw the sign above the Pokemart in question and started to make her way towards the building from the back. Looking around the alleyway, she noticed some old wooden flats leaning against the building near the fire escape of the apartment complex opposite of the Pokemart.

While inspecting her surroundings, Alexis also heard the noise of something digging around the garbage bags piled along the wall, most likely a wild Pokemon looking for food.

Still exhaling and inhaling deeply through her mask of bandages, the burglar endeavored to bring her noise level down. Before she could have just been a crazy girl or a jogger, but in the back alleyway of a Poké Mart dressed like this was beyond suspicion... Needless to say, she couldn't afford making any noise... And whatever was digging around back there was a potential threat to her mission, whether it was making noise, or some hobo who could report her later on.

Carefully, Alexis' back hugged the wall... as she carefully sidled towards the wriggling trash bags, trying to get a closer look at whatever it was, hopefully without being spotted. As one hand's fingertips slid across the wall, the other caressed the poké ball sitting at her waist.

As Alexis inched closer and closer, she watched closely to see what would be hidden. Suddenly, one of the bags went flying into the middle of the alleyway, a blue crocodile having pushed it out into the center as a purple snake darted out to rip into the bag and look for a snack. Watching the two Pokemon with as much curiousity as Alexis was a red electrical ghost, curious but not joining in the other two with searching for food, until the little crocodile started tossing things out of the bag, including an old watch which the ghost seemed to find most interesting and went for a closer look.

Alexis just continued to watch them, glad at the very least it wasn't a person that had been making the noise.

Slowly, Alexis raised a bit of an eyebrow. She had seen plenty of ekans before, and was well aware of totodile's capabilities... but that other one... she wasn't entirely sure about it. She was tempted to take out her pokédex to examine it, but the light and noise from it would likely startle them. That is, assuming they hadn't already noticed her and simply didn't care... She and this machop she was given could probably take out the other two, but that electric one was far too suspicious. It was transparent, and there's anything training fighting-types have ever taught her, it's you can't punch a transparent pokémon.

They didn't seem like too much of a mission, yet... she continued to intently watch them for a while longer... In case one broke off from the group, it would seem an easy catch. Almost needless to say, none of them seemed like the sort she would enjoy training, or so she mused. But, it could likely be sold for a decent profit, especially if it was that... mysterious, seemingly-rare ghost.

EDIT: ...As she thought more on the matter, the temptation of catching it grew more heavily on her mind. Carefully and quietly, she sidled back along the wall until the monsters were almost out of sight. "Hopefully this is enough distance," she mumbled under breath, as a hand reached for her pokédex.

With the device muted, her eyes scanned the entries... Ekans, Totodile... yeah, yeah... "Rotom, huh... Rare, just as I thought... Possesses electric devices..." She was right, it was invulnerable to her attacks right now, but if it possessed an electronic--... electronic... Her eyes widened, looking up as she quickly shut off her pokédex and shoved it deep into her clothes. Last thing she needed was a pokémon scurrying around inside her expensive equipment.

Despite the slight scare, she was now intent on catching it... if only she could find a machine it would want to possess. There didn't seem to be like that in the vicinity, obviously, otherwise the creature would already be inside it. Instead, Alexis deftly sprinted and leaped onto the wooden planks against the wall, the bounded towards the fire escape... climbing as quietly as she could. It seemed she could get to the Mart from here, but... instead, she first tried to peer around the stairway and the nearest buildings, searching for anything a Rotom might want to invade...

Deftly leaping from the wooden skiffs to the fire escape, Alexis quietly climbed the metal steps, searching the windows of the apartment carefully. Finally she finds a window that isn't latched, and slowly opens it and reachs in, grabbing the first thing she can reach, a small nightstand fan. With the fan in hand, she quietly closes the window and descends the fire escape, dropping the remaining distance to the ground.

Ready to see what will happen next, she tosses the fan towards the Pokemon, watching it land on a bag of garbage before tumbling to the ground, catching their attention. The Totodile looks for a moment, curious, but then goes back to munching on a half-eaten apple. The Ekans doesn't even pay attention, to busy slithering around the ripped bag playing with a peice of crumbled paper. The Rotom though, spotting a toy much more interesting then the watch, takes no time in wrapping around the fan and shaping it into a more comfortable form. Floating back into the air, changed, Rotom spins it's new fan blades happily and tests it out on a peice of litter, blowing the paper around.

A malicious grin spread across Alexis' hidden features. It has worked, almost perfectly so. She was so thrilled that she was tempted to run up and punch the fan blades off that thing herself... before realizing the blades would likely snap her fingers as electricity pumped into her body.

Instead, she quietly drew out Crack's poké ball... and swept her arm from the left as the ball spun forward, before releasing the machop with a flash. "Quick, Facade the red one!" Before it could even get a grip on its surroundings, the grey pack of muscles launched himself towards Rotom. His feet made quick work of the pavement as he charged straight in for the blow--intending only to feint to the side at the last moment, and ram his fist into the fan's exposed flank.

Alexis' eyes intently watch Totodile and Ekans. She expects them to flee, but fears they might join the fray... in which case, she realizes she may be forced to intervene firsthand. Her eyes narrow, fists clenching with anticipation.

As Crack charged forward towards the Rotom, orange sparks slowly formed around the Machop's body as he leapt through the air and slammed his fist into the side of Rotom, sending it tumbling to the ground and startling the other Pokemon. Totodile and Ekans took that chance to scamper off into the darkness. As it recovered from the blow, Rotom returned fire by charging with electricty before firing off a ThunderShock, slamming Crack with lightning. Crack stumbled backwards, but the electricty quickly dispersed from his body through the ground and he flexed his arms, ready to roll.

A hiss of relief came from between Alexis' lips as she watched the other two scurry off. Her focus returned instead to the battle at end, eyes narrowing as the fight went on. Tch, he's never going to take care of tis one with blows like that... "Leer it down!" Her eyes narrowed, "Watch intently... try to Detect its next strike..."

On command, Crack stood his ground as he glared viciously into his opponent, summoning all of his detestation and fury into one heart-stopping glare... utter malice pouring from his beady red eyes, and into the rotom floating before him.

Brushing off the electrical attack with little problem, Crack took an offensive pose and leered down his opponent, unsettling the poor Rotom. It flew back, startled and lowering it's guard, but since it saw a chance, it unleashed another bolt of electricty, though this wave of lightning seemed to cling to Crack. The Machop tried to shake the sparks off, but this time the dull electric sensation didn't leave, though it wasn't harming him.

A devious grin spread across Alexis' hidden lips. She hadn't known Crack for very long, but she knew him well enough... that getting him paralyzed was the worst thing this pokémon could have possibly done for itself. After all, he had the Guts of a true warrior. "Facade."

His body might be twitching with electricity, Crack's eyes were exploding with fires of passion, of thrill for battle. With a ferocious battle cry, his little gray body lunged skillfully towards Rotom, numb as it was, as his hands feinted, his feet shifted, and he finished his facade by launching an orange-glowing chop as close to the creature's face as he could reach.

Crack rushed forward, glowing with orange energy as he focused the power of his injuries through his body. As he dove forward for his Facade-powered chop when the effects of the Thunder Wave kicked in, locking up his muscles mid-strike. As Crack fell to one knee, catching himself before hitting the ground with his face. Unfortunately, Rotom took this chance to blast Crack with another bolt of Thunder Shock, sending him tumbling sideways.

Pushing himself back to his feet, Crack wasn't about to give up anytime soon.

"Once more, Crack," she quietly hissed. One hand smoothly extended forward towards the pokémon, her middle finger raised elegantly and high. The other tightly gripped a vacant poké ball sitting at her waist, as she waited for an opportune moment to strike.

No sooner did Crack fall, then he pushed up and bounded again towards his obnoxious foe, leaping high into the air, recklessly bringing both hands behind his head--glowing orange--as he aimed to smash this would-be machine to pieces.

Launching himself at the Rotom with as much force as he could, his hands clamped together to bring a powerful downward blow on the Rotom's head. Rotom though flew backwards and launched another Thunder Shock at the poor Machop as his muscles once more locked up, making him unable to react to the movement or the bolt of lightning that shot into him and sent him sprawling to the ground. This thing was giving Crack and Alexis a lot more trouble then they first thought.

"Again," she commanded. Alexis' extended hand slowly drew back, as she hung her face into her palm. At this rate, she probably could go into the Poké Mart, stolen some paralysis-curing medicine, and use it on Crack before he could actually get the attack off.

Nonetheless, the Machop remained furiously determined, the repeated stuns only further increasing his persistence. Rolling through the air with a roundhouse kick, the fighter's foot left a trail of orange, glowing power as it was thrown hopefully towards the possessed appliance.

Frustration was starting to show on Crack's face, the paralysis was becoming a major hindrance. Turning about and leaping at his foe, he landed in front of Rotom and swung about on spot, slamming the side of his foot into the Rotom's face and sending it crashing into a pile of trash. As it stumbled about trying to push a bag off, it countered with a bolt of lightning that both tore through a bag still in front of him while simultaneously striking Crack in the chest, causing him to drop to one knee, clutching his body. The battle was starting to show on the Machop, but it was easy to see it was taking it's toll on the wild Pokemon as well.

"There we go," Alexis sighed under breath. "Last time!" Hopefully Crack could manage to overcome the numbness to tackle that thing one more time... or so Alexis hoped... after which she could deliver a potion if it was necessary... But, in the meantime, her banaged right hand tightly gripped the poké ball, almost itching to throw it.

Even as his breaths became heavy, as his body numbed, Crack would't let go so easily. He lunged with all the fervor he could muster, fist prepared to launch one final, decisive blow right into the floating appliance's face.

As the Rotom charged out again, lighting starting around it once more, Crack kicked off the ground and slammed his fist against the wild Pokemon's face as a bolt of lightning struck him. Both Pokemon fell back at this point, slamming into the ground. As Crack began to push himself up, ready to keep going, he saw his opponent become wrapped in red light as it was absorbed into the Pokeball that had just left Alexis' hand. As the ball bounced off the ground, it shook and shuddered.

    'Ping.'

With that sound, Alexis and Crack relaxed, knowing the fight was over and they had won. With the new Pokemon in her possession, perhaps she could get around to the job she had at hand.

Alexis shifted quietly over to the ball, plucked it up, and slid it back into her belt. With a soft sigh, she relished in the fact that was over. It wasn't exactly her sort of pokémon, but it definitely seemed like the sort of obscurity that would at the very least be sold for a massive profit.

...Glancing around to make sure the coast was clear, she gave Crack a unique salute for a job well done. He loyally returned the same gesture, before being sucked up in a red aura, and placed back onto Alexis' belt alongside their captured quarry.

With those potential hindrances of the way, the woman silently swept herself back over to the fire escape. Leaping from the wooden boards, she caught herself on the ladder, before deftly scurrying up... Making her way across to the Pokémon Mart, she kept her eyes constantly searching for any potential threats or hazards....
