Welcome to the wonderful world of Pokemon!

Before you stands the beginning of an adventure for many young trainers in the Belvair Region!

I wish you all good luck as this adventure begins, because you are going to need it!

    The Rules (open)
In a nutshell, this is a role-playing game based primarily the main series of Pokémon video games, though it borrows many elements from other entries in the franchise. In it, players take on the role of a Pokémon Trainer, Collector, Breeder, or other class of human being; owning Pokémon is notably optional. While there will form an overlying plot, generally the role-play focuses on the various episodic adventures of small groups of individuals. That is to say, this group of characters will be presented with their own unique plots as they role-play, and where those plots go depends on both their actions and the GM's.

Players control their character, their Pokémon, and occasionally some minor NPC actions or the scenery. The role-play is run by a GM (Game Master; me) who controls most NPCs (non-player characters), appearances of wild Pokémon, wild Pokémon themselves, enemy trainers, items, rewards, exp, and so forth.

    The World
    - The setting is roughly twelve years after the events of Generations I & III, nine years after the events of Generations II & IV, and presumably six years after the events of Generation V. Locations and pokémon from all five canonical generations are represented. Locations from spin-off games, such as Ranger and Colosseum, may not be included.
    - In general, things aren't going to be strictly as they are in-game. For instance, almost everything will be on a much larger and more realistic scale; there will be dirt roads large enough for cars; towns will have more than eight buildings; a Machop will be able to punch something without knowing the move "Punch"; etc.
    - It is not perpetually sunny nor perpetually daylight. Characters need to think about necessities such as sleeping and eating, otherwise they may suffer some ill effects.
    - Needless to say, you aren't chiefly limited to only doing things you can do in-game. For instance, a Lapras will be able to carry you across water without knowing Surf; you can sell and buy Pokémon; you can freeze a Magikarp and use it as a Melee weapon so it gains experience; etc.
    - On that note, HM moves can always be used outside of a battle by a pokémon physically capable of using them. However, reason is taken into consideration. No Spearow will not be able to fly a 100 lb trainer from Pallet Town to Celadon City, and a Machamp will be able to use its strength to move objects more effectively than a Bulbasaur.
    - I am not limiting Pokemon strictly to appear in the areas they do in-game. For example; though uncommon, you may find a Snover in Johto. More commonly, you may find region-local Pokémon in areas you might not find them in-game; e.g., a Grimer may sneak up on you out of a sewage drain in the midst of Saffron City.
    - Team Rocket is still noticeably around, making moves here and there. Teams Magma and Aqua have gone largely unheard of, though rumors state they still exist. Teams Galactic and Plasma seem to have disappeared from the face of the planet, as far as the public can decipher.
    - To be eligible for competitive Pokémon battles, trainers require licenses, which come in the form of Trainer Cards issued by the Pokémon League. It is assumed every player-character already has one of these cards; however, it may be revoked by league officials if certain rules of the league are broken (i.e., sending out too many Pkmn into a battle simultaneously, carrying more than six with you, killing a pokémon, etc.). By these rules, it is also assured that a battling pkmn can carry no more than one item into battle, and it can carry no weapons which aren't natural to the pokemon (such as Scyther's blades or Farfetch'd leek). An additional rule recently enforced by the Pokemon League is that the trainer cannot use items on his or her pokemon in the middle of a battle, with the exception being items that are not applied directly to the pokemon, such as flutes.
    - We'll be using the Berries of Gen III and IV. It's assumed these are quite common in the wild (much more so than in the games), and grow on natural bushes or trees, not on magical plants sprouted by trainers which grow up to six feet in a couple days.
    - It is legal to buy and sell Pokémon; however, doing so tends to be frowned upon.
    - Poké Balls function by somehow shrinking a Pokémon and storing it in the ball, through a means of such complex yet inexpensive technology that virtually no one understands it fully. Like in the Pokémon Adventures manga, the top half of the ball is somewhat transparent. The ball's interior has an artificial gravity and air supply system which renders the Pokémon almost completely safe from external conditions, but does not enable the pok. If an inhabited ball is dented, cracked, or opened in any way, the contained Pokémon will emerge as normal--in this world, that is typically how wild pokemon free themselves from a ball if they are unsuccessfully captured. If a ball breaks, it is virtually impossible to repair. Already-caught Pokémon are recalled via a beam which shoots through the small dot on the front of a Poké Ball, like in the Pokemon anime.
    - Although Pokémon contained within balls can be transported through certain computer networks, they are not magically "stored" within the network. Someone else (probably a family member or professor) must hold onto a player-character's spare Pokémon, and care for them accordingly.
    - Perhaps unlike the games and the anime, Gym Leaders devote their entire lives to Pokémon training, and are among the most elite of trainers. Going into this, I am not expecting anyone to be able to beat all the Gym Leaders for any given region; keep that in mind.
    - TMs in this world appear similar to compact disks. To teach a Pokemon a TM or HM, insert the disc into a pokedex, pokegear, or specialized PC (such as those found in Pokemon Centers). With the prior two devices, the device can only be used to teach moves to the individual who owns the device, but can be done over a short distance via bluetooth. With a PC, any ball containing a pokemon can be placed in a certain specialized container connected to the PC, and the TM/HM inserted into the disc drive.
    - Aside from being used to teach TMs, Pokedexes serve four basic functions. First, they will work as searchable electronic encyclopedias for virtually everything directly related to Pokemon as species, including even what a given Pokémon eats. Second, they will provide basic information read-offs of wild Pokemon automatically whenever such a Pokemon comes in range of the Pokedex's built-in identifier camera, identifying the species, type, gender, and abilities. (With or without a Pokedex present, a picture of the pokemon, its level, and rough health percentage will be listed.) Third, it will automatically tag each individual Pokemon species its owner has either seen and caught, much like in the games. Finally, it serves as a digital representation of the user's Trainer License.
    - PokéGears are essentially smartphones. Aside from being used for the purpose of TMs, they also have the function of a world map, along the lines of Google Earth/Maps; a radio and mp3 player; and a clock which will chime at the dawn of every even-numbered hour, which should help make it clear what time it is in the role-play. Additional applications for the PokeGear are obtainable in the form of SD-card-like objects which are inserted into the PokeGear itself. Simple things even a low-end cell phone could reasonably do, like be used as a calculator or be used to play simple video games, can be done by the PokeGear without the need for additional applications.
    - A Pokétch is a watch. A PokéNav is silly. Don't expect them to do much.

    The System
    - Pokémon have levels, but this is primarily for determining approximately when they'll learn moves and when they'll evolve. The level difference makes dramatically less battle strength as it does in the official games, although it does still make a difference.
    - It always takes 10exp for a pkmn to level up. A pkmn normally gets 16exp from an even match. Less will be earned if the pkmn only does part of the work (i.e., if you switch out), or if the enemy is weaker than the pkmn. More will be earned if the enemy is stronger.
    - Experience will be earned even if the enemy Pokémon is caught (unlike in the games), although less will be earned than if the enemy was KO'd.
    - If a Pokémon is used outside of battle for other useful purposes, such as a Fearow flying its trainer as a form of transportation, or a Charmander using its tail to light up a dark cavern, it will earn a bit of exp. once the task is complete.
    - A Pokémon's current exp will be kept as a decimal value of its level in the second post, which the GM will update whenever experience is earned.
    - For Pokémon that level-up via trade, a recently-invented machine has been added to Centers that allow evolution outside of trade. However, it costs P1000 to use, and it can only evolve a Pokémon that has has grown at least ten levels since its last evolution. Pokémon that normally evolve if traded while holding an item can still use this machine to evolve, but must be holding the item while using it.
    - A Pokémon learns its level-up moves as normal, using the Black/White level-up set, though in some cases moves may earned a bit earlier, a bit later, or not at all.
    - If there's a move that a Pokémon could reasonably learn (whether or not they can learn it in one or all of the games), it can be taught this move by its trainer without needing to level up or use a TM/HM. However, the trainer must make clear and deliberate efforts over a considerable period of time for the Pokémon to learn this move, especially if it's an unusual move for the Pokémon to learn (i.e., Raticate learning Water Gun, Machop learning Rollout). How long a move takes to learn is roughly determined by level; a Haunter learning Ominous Wind may only take one or two levels, while a Raticate learning Bubblebeam may take eight or more. Naturally, trying to have a pokemon learn multiple moves simultaneously in this fashion will have a very negative effect on the levels necessary to accomplish this feat, while making nigh-constant efforts for the pokemon to learn the move will have a positive effect.
    - Pokémon can often have abilities/moves they cannot have in the games. Additionally, Pokémon can have multiple abilities.
    - Outside of battle, a Pokémon can use all of the moves in its movepool without penalty. It can only use four specific moves in battle (excluding basic things such as punching, biting or tackling). These four moves are can be assigned and re-assigned at a Pokémon Center PC. Freshly-caught wild Pokémon will have their four most recently-learned moves assigned.
    - While most abilities and moves function as they do in the games, some have varying functions in Pokémon Ghost, either to make them physically possible in the more detailed world of this role-play, or to prevent them from being overpowered. (For instance, recovery moves such as Recover or Rest can often only heal a small amount between battles.)
    - Pokémon involved in battle will have their health listed as a rough percentage (which, needless to say, is the equivalent of HP in the games) in the GM's post. The pokemon's base stats, the strength of the attack they received, the effectiveness of the attack received, and various other factors will help determine how much of the percentage is subtracted after a pokemon takes a hit. After a battle ends, the second post will be updated with each player-character's pkmn's current health and experience.
    - Battles are in real-time (meaning they aren't turn-based; you don't have to wait for your opponent to retaliate). Player-characters will order their Pokémon into battle, and control the pkmn insofar as what strategy it uses to strike, evade, or whatever the case may be. Be creative with what you do--there's at least a dozen different ways for an Electabuzz to use ThunderPunch. Whether or not a move hits, how hard it hits, whether or not a pkmn faints, or if a pkmn is successfully caught is determined by the GM. NPC trainers and enemy Pokémon will be, as noted earlier, controlled by the GM.
    - Pokebucks are the main form of currency, and they are commonly referred to as Poke. As a general measure, each unit of Poke is worth a little less than a single cent of US currency, and it follows in saying, P2000 is a little less than $20.00.
    - The primary method of earning cash is through competitive Pokémon League battling. Unless specifically stated otherwise by one of the participants, all battles are competitive. If you lose a battle, you must cede P500, unless a different amount is agreed upon by the participants beforehand. Failure to hand over the winnings can result in Trainer License termination.
    - It is assumed you will always have enough "spare change" for borderline mandatory purchases like food, lodging, clothing, etc, or extremely cheap things like pillows or pens; in order words, you won't have to spend Poke from your official accumulated total. You will, of course, have to spend it on Pkmn-related items or transportation (like a bike or car). For other items not falling neatly into the previous categories, ask the GM before trying to acquire them free of charge.
    - Pokémon of the same egg group have a possibility of breeding whenever they are left alone together. The use of certain incenses can enhance these chances.
    - Only Pokémon sharing at least one egg group can communicate with each other on a level of depth akin to human interaction, barring Pokémon with telepathy or certain other special cases. While Pokémon can not communicate efficiently with humans, they do understand their trainer's intentions very well, enabling them to follow most commands as if they understood the words.
    - Eggs have a definitive amount of time for how long they take to hatch, based on egg cycles. The time can be altered by factors that could affect an egg's capacity to hatch, such as certain Pokemon abilities, or being kept in an incubator. However, progress on their hatching will cease if they are removed from the character's party pokemon. For the majority of development, an egg is only slightly larger size than Poké Balls, and can thus fit in most contraptions designed to hold balls. Only when it's about to hatch does an egg enter a sudden stage of growth.
    - As in GenV, most TMs have infinite uses. Some of the more powerful ones may have limited uses, but will be denoted as such.

    The Meta-Role-Play
    - All player-characters are expected to stay in a group most of the time, barring special circumstances. It is acceptable to split up on occasion, but only with the intent of re-grouping in the imminent future. This makes the role-play much easier for the GM to manage.
    - Needless to say, any out-of-character comments should be made in (parenthesis), or ((double parenthesis)) if you prefer. I impose no limit on out-of-character comments, but I do ask that you try to avoid making posts that have only out-of-character comments and no in-character role-playing.
    - You will hear me make references to "imaginary bonus points" (or IBPs). If you do something to earn these, it is considered good role-playing practice, and of course, doing something to lose them is bad practice. The amount I imagine you have will have a slight effect on whether you get a good or bad outcome--like earning something on your wishlist, or getting a meteor dropped on you.
    - As a GM who is putting a good deal of effort into this, I reserve the right to kick out any role-player for any reason.
    - If you have any questions whatsoever in regards to Pokémon Ghost, ask them (out-of-character), through VMs, through PMs, or through the #bitf irc. I will be eager to answer.

If you wish to join, post your character to my Visitor Messages, and include the following information. You may present the information in any format you desire, so long as all the fields below are included. Including additional information not related to the fields below is accepted and encouraged. Please realize that the role-play is currently filled, and attempting to join will only put you on a waiting list for if more room becomes available.

There is currently a limit of one character per player, but you may if you so choose replace your current character with a new one during the role-play.

    Name (First and last)
    Gender
Age (Being an adult earns you imaginary bonus points)
    Hometown (Make it canon)
Occupation (Trainer, Breeder, Student, Pharmacist, Burglar, etc.)
Appearance (Height, weight, physical traits... clothing, assuming you're one of those characters who always wears the same thing)
Personality/Motivations (This will largely shape the plots that are presented unto you, and is intended to help the GM make interesting and relevant events and plot-points; being a coordinator or yet another scrapping youth who wants to be the champion loses imaginary bonus points.)
Backstory/Family (Surely you were not spawned from nothingness, right? Family members or other people mentioned in your backstory are considered NPCs over which you have significant control. Try to avoid using canon characters in your backstory.)
Wishlist (Pokémon and items you'd like to obtain, from an out-of-character perspective; Please list as many things as you desire, and feel free to update the list later (and inform me if you do); I'll try to create opportunities for you to obtain at least some of these things, but don't expect to get legendaries, especially not more than one. The more imaginary bonus points you have, and the more reasonable your desires, the more likely you'll get what you want.)

In creating your character, you get ten tokens (tkn) to spend on which Pokemon and items with which you would like to start.
    - 7 tkn: Lv5 Starter Pokémon of your choice. You can't start with anything too powerful, obviously. The first stage of any three-part evolutionary line (except pseudo-legendaries) will likely be fine, though you could also, for instance, start with a Spinda or a Yanma, as neither is overly powerful.
    - 5 tkn: Lv5 Starter Pokémon, random.
    - 5 tkn: A Pokémon Egg of your choice. Again, it has to be within the realm of reason.
    - 3 tkn: A Pokémon Egg, random.
    - 2 tkn: A TM of your choice.
    - 1 tkn: A pseudo-random TM. I'll try to make it something you can actually use.
    - 1 tkn: Just about any single item you can care to have (including Pokédex, PokéGear, etc), save a Master Ball, a TM, an Exp. Share, an Exp. All, or a Lucky Egg. Common items like clothes or a deck of cards are, of course, free. You can also opt for four berries of any variety, four Gems of any variety, or any selection of Poké Mart items totaling under P2000.
    - 1 tkn: P2000
Aside from your token selections, everyone starts with P2000, five Poké Balls, a Potion, an Oran Berry, and a Trainer License. You may willingly not start with any of these items or not spend all of your tokens, if you so choose. However, after your character has been created, all unspent tokens or untaken items will become permanently unavailable to you.

Regardless of whether or not you choose to have a starter, you will have the opportunity to catch Pokémon as the role-play progresses.

All starter Pokémon (aside from those in eggs) will be given a TM, HM, or Egg Move they are capable of learning, chosen at pseudo-random by the GM. Starter Pokémon in eggs will be given one of three pseudo-random Egg Moves; of those three, the player selects which one the Pokémon knows when the pokémon hatches.

If your character is accepted, you will be added to the waiting list. We'll discuss when and how your character comes into play when there's room for you to join.

    Now then...

Welcome to the world of Pokémon!

    ------------------------------------------

Aside from what was listed above, I also had a "hidden" system which would make it consistent in regards to when eggs would hatch. I'd rather not share the same system, as I could exploit it, but suggest some sort of consistent system be used for that.

I would often use the smogon damage calculator as an approximate guide to how much attacks would do against pokemon of similar level. There was a role-play in which I did away with it completely. (The setting of that role-play was actually... a post-apocalyptic world where pokémon were newly discovered creations of genetic manipulation. So using a generic damage calculator seemed silly. It was a pretty cool RP, though, but it took a lot of creative effort to run.)

...Many times, especially during character creation, I would end up using random.org when I needed to determine a random chance.

Finally, I would really like IBPs--or something less random perhaps--to actually be able to do something for players. You could make certain pokémon you want to catch appear, or acquire rare items abruptly, or--primarily--be able to teach a pokémon a move it couldn't normally learn (instead of just putting in "consistent effort" over an unidentified period of time). It's just a thought, though.

    Thank you for your patience.

His eyes are a deep blue and he wears large oval lensed glasses with the right lense being noticeably thicker. Harry is pretty tan from his being outside most of the time. He has rather lanky arms for his size and shorter legs. Harry is always wearing a tee shirt and blue jeans. The specific shirt and jeans change, but he is always wearing sporting the same look.

Personality/Motivations: Harry is very quiet and to himself when he first meets a person he doesn't know. Once he becomes used to a person he becomes very talkative. Harry talks with a southern accent and often butchers some of the words he tries to say. After talking with him for a while one finds out he is pretty knowlageable and very caring about people and pokemon alike. Harry also likes to have fun by playing with his pokemon and listening to music. Name: Mark Young

    Gender: Male

    Age: 17

    Hometown: Drilvin city

Occupation: None (Calls himself an explorer)

Appearance: Mark has long black hair, and a slightly small head. His eyes generally draw the most attention however, with one a bright blue, and the other solid gray. He usually wears shorts with a blue T-shirt with a simple white stripe going across horizontally at the chest.

Personality/Motivations: Though he comes across as very serious to strangers, once he befriends somebody however, he becomes a totally different person. To friends, he’s an optimistic person who cares for his friends and family more than anyone. To those he doesn’t know, he’s quiet and reserved. Quite the opposite of the person his friends complain can’t stop talking. He does however have a sensitive spot, in talking about his father, and tries to talk around the subject if it comes up.

Backstory/Family: Mark used to live in the city of Drilvin, but his family lived in a very dangerous part of the city. Despite this, he would set out to explore the city, sometimes disappearing for a day at a time, terrifying his mother when he did. His father worked a labor job, and despite the danger, made just enough money to live off of. Then one day, when he was only 10 father didn’t return.

After a lengthy police investigation, it was confirmed that Mark’s father had been murdered. The murderer was never caught. It was at this time, Marks mother decided that, despite their lack of money, they could not live in Drilvin city any longer. They moved to (Insert name of starting town here) Where Marks mother was able to get a job at a local restaurant. It isn’t great but it pays the bills, and that’s what’s important. Mark holds a deep hatred for the city of Drilvin, or the city that killed his father.

    back demeanor.

Wears red glasses to protect his eyes while using his computer.

    Personality:

Very Curious. Also very air-headed. Tends to ignore people on accident can seem very rude because of that. Kinda a geek. ADD. Sarcasm- heavy,

    and generally laid back.

Motivations: After rarely leaving his hometown for most of his life he wants to see more of the world. Of course, he still has his laptop with

him, charged by solar power and with 4g internet support anywhere, anytime.

Since his little vacation from work is unpaid, he actively seeks to aquire as much money as he can in the process.

He believes that with a Porygon and a Rotom, his hobby of modding and hacking will be heavily improved, and can be moved into corporeal space.

On a similar note, he's very interested in any and all artificial pokemon.

    Backstory/Family

Simple quiet life, Varius was born, raised, and educated in Calvent city. Never leaving much, in fact rarely leaving his city. He quickly

developed an affinity for electronics and spent much of his time inside. His parents got him a job at the local docks when he was young, but

he always showed more effort in his hobby of anything computer grated on them. "Get outside" they said. "It'll be nice" they said.

    Alice Meriford (Lightascetic) (open)
    Name: Alice Meriford

    Gender: Female

    Age: 16

    Hometown: Garven City

    Occupation: Florist

Appearance: Height: 5’3 Weight: 118 lbs
Alice isn’t as tall as she’d like, but is content with her slim body. Although it often gets in her way, Alice takes pride in her long, flowing hazel hair. She keeps it in a loose ponytail, the end of which fans out along the middle of her back. As her fringe can reach down to cover her forehead and eyebrows, she keeps it at bay with a faded white headband, while several strands of hair always manage to fall in front of her ears. Almost completely flat against her head, Alice often tucks them behind her ears, only for them to return to their original place later. Her eyes are coloured a soft, misty blue, complete with light lashes that amplify her wide-eyed look. Alice’s thin lips are pursed together whenever she’s thinking, and her small, thin nose is always attentive, as seen by its frequent twitching.
Alice’s everyday attire, which mimics her florist’s uniform (minus the apron), consists of a loose, short sleeved lavender shirt, the bottom of which is neatly tucked into a knee-high denim skirt and held in place by a white belt. On her feet Alice always wears shin-high calico boots with padded soles for comfort. This leaves some of her lightly tanned legs on slow, along with her knees, rough from frequent kneeling in the dirt. Her apron is made of simple cloth, dyed brown with the image of a daisy imprinted on the front. Below the image is a wide pocked spanning most of the apron, which Alice can use to store seeds and berries.

Personality/Motivations: Alice can be a spritely young woman when it comes to her passions, which include most aspects of nature. As she spends a considerable amount of time tending to customers, Alice always makes sure to be polite in the presence of new people. She enjoys most forms of conversation, sometimes to the point where she rambles beyond what is necessary. Due to her occupation, Alice is a true believer of kindness bringing out the best in people, and so she strives to give everyone a second, third, or even a fourth chance. In the heat of the moment she can become quite rash, but is always willing to make amends once things have calmed down. Alice isn’t particularly mad about boys just yet, meaning that if she had to choose between spending the day with a handsome young lad, or frolicking in a forest with a wealth of flowers, the latter would always win.
When it comes to Pokemon, Alice stereotypically favours the Grass type, especially when they can help make her job easier. Although she loves nothing more than to show off the wonders of Grass Pokemon when she battles, Alice also acknowledges that some battles can’t be won with one type alone. Although she is far from a fanatic, she would like to think she knows enough about Pokemon to be a formidable force in a battle, and will stop at nothing to defend her friends.
Alice has no true aspirations just yet, aside from spreading the joy of flowers as far as her arms will reach. Although with each passing day, her fascination with Grass Pokemon blooms a little more.

Backstory/Family: Alice’s family live above their shop, which resides just on the outskirts of the bustling streets of Garven City. They make their living by tending to flowers and berry trees in their own private garden, situated at the back of their shop. The garden, surrounded by tall, square hedges, encompasses much of what was Alice’s childhood. Although she attended school, she would always be excited to return home so she could dump her bags and race out into the fragranced air of her family’s garden. Before she was old enough to assist her mother, father and grandparents in monitoring the progress of the flowers and the ripeness of the berries, Alice was content with running around the flowerbeds, climbing the berry trees, or reading books underneath the generous shelter of the branches. When the garden was grace with the presence of wild Pokemon, Alice was usually the first to find them. She would run indoors, garnering attention with her shrill voice so that somebody could tell her what Pokemon she had found.
As she became older and more familiar with Pokemon, Alice refrained from starting an uproar each time one entered the garden. When she was deemed ready to begin tending the plants and trees, Alice often found herself holding the attention of the very Pokemon that held hers in her youth. More often than note she’d feel the tickle of an Oddish’s leaves against her elbow , or the buzz of a Ledyba’s wings floating around her head as she worked away.
Alice was extremely used to coming into contact with Grass and Bug Pokemon, so when she ventured out into the garden to double check the netting over the berry trees, she was astounded to see a small, pink body amongst the flowerbeds. Creeping closer, Alice was unsure what she had found, almost compelling her to revert back to her childish self and retreat indoors to find someone to identify it for her. Instead, she merely observed, fascinated as the Pokemon gently patted the petals on the flowers, its short arms bouncing off the delicate plants without so much as bending the stems. Alice continued to watch until she was noticed. For minutes, both her and the Pokemon remained still, staring into each other’s eyes. Gradually, it began to move closer. When she thought that it just might come within touching distance, the porch blinds behind her flew open, covering the garden in light from the house. The startled pokemon quickly bounced off into the shelter of the berry trees, leaving Alice to turn to her mother. Putting her finger to her lips to shoo her away, she crept into the long shadows of the trees, her eyes peeled. When she could not find the pokemon after circling the trees numerous times, Alice moved to the center, sitting in the grass completely still.
    It wasn’t long before the pink body re-emerged. It started to approach again, but seemed to stop, standing still and refusing to move. Slowly, Alice stood, reaching up above her to gently pull a Pecha berry from the branches of a tree. Returning the the grass, she held the berry out in her open hand. The Pokemon resumed its advance, once again moving very close to Alice. She could see its short arms shaking as it reached for the berry. When no harm befalled it, the Pokemon happily ate the berry. Stifling a yawn, Alice decided it was time to return to the house. Content with leaving after the delightful encounter, she didn’t expect the pink body to come bouncing after her, this time unafraid of the artificial light that streamed from the porch door. Alice didn’t notice until her mother reappeared, her face lighting up before she spoke;
“Looks like you’ve made friends with a Cleffa!”
It wasn’t long before Cleffa became a regular visitor to the Meriford’s house. When her parent’s suggested putting her into a pokeball, Alice was reluctant, but Cleffa seemed more than happy. Soon after, much like the rest of her family, Alice applied for a Trainer’s License. Following the family tradition, she wasn’t particularly interested in Gym Badges, but battling was another story. Sometimes when asked to run an errand, Alice would come across trainers battling, and would watch intently. She had only been brave enough to participate in one herself a handful of times, for fear of hurting Cleffa, but soon realised that it made the bond between them stronger than ever.

    Clyde Clairvoyant (Guy) (open)
    Name: Clyde Clairvoyant
    Gender: Male
    Age: 20
    Hometown: Garven City
    Occupation:[/b] Bum/Thief

Appearance: Clyde only stands around 5' 3", with remotely broad shoulders and loose clothing masking the fact he's overly lightweight even for a guy his size.

The lad has a round, smooth, and pale face with green eyes, which is seems almost expresses a look of distance and mild disinterest, often accompanied by a callous smirk. This is, of course, excluding the rare instances he bears a toothy, twisted grin and disturbingly wide eyes... which in of itself could give children nightmares, let alone the sorts of actions he might take while bearing it.

His hair is dark brown and always jagged, as if he spent last night with a pair of scissors having their way with his quivering body. Perhaps partially due to his malnourished upbringing, his facial hair has yet to develop beyond peach fuzz.

His choice of clothing tends to be dark and baggy, and ideally with steel or silver chains if at all possible. Most prominently is the omnipresent black robber collar fastened seamlessly around his neck--only donned by stretching the rubber over his head; and a tattered zip-up hoodie which is so worn-in it appears somewhere halfway between gray and black. Under the hoodie is usually the only part of his attire not entirely black or silver, most often a T-shirt of some color, often violet or green...

His personal "accessories" consist of silver snake bite piercings, and a matching stud in the middle of his tongue. He is most often seen wearing black mascara.

Personality/Motivations: Clyde is twisted and he knows it. He's a borderline schizophrenic, has strong sadomasochistic desires he is not always able to control, is an avid kleptomaniac, and he... well... you would rather not know about his 'romantic' desires, but it's safe to say he's at the very least bisexual.

Despite self-hatred being a regular sensation running through his mind, he is surprisingly confident and can be deceptively cunning. He puts rather little effort into just about everything he does, even survival, unless "possessed" to the point his madman face shows... It is best to not be nearby when that happens. Despite this, he has had at least enough luck so far to control himself to the point he's yet to land in prison.

His primary motivations include survival, and producing the most viciously powerful Caterpie to have ever been born into this world.

Backstory/Family: Clyde's family growing up was unpleasant, but relatively normal, and in of itself does not explain how he himself came to be so depraved. In his mind, however, he views them as demons who had the patience at least to toss him through puberty and into what certain laws deem as adulthood before dumping his ass into the streets without a cent to his name. This is all despite the fact his "gorgeous" elder sister, whom he assumes is the incarnation of beelzebub, continues to live with the rest of his family ...although he often forgets the fact she is actually a functional member of society.

Perhaps what he sees as the most significant part of his upbringing was receiving a single Caterpie in his early teens. At the time, he gave his then-friend, a successful young trainer, a bit of a scowl for giving him one of the weakest pokémon ever. His friend mentioned it had been caught in a "haunted forest somewhere," and, "his eerie vibe reminded me of you... I think he has potential."

...Yet, a boy and his Caterpie could end up being a surprisingly powerful bond, even if largely because that boy felt no one else could understand him other than a speechless and incredibly weak insect. He became the one creature that seemed to understand Clyde, or so some would say.

As the years passed, however, Clyde and Dust the Caterpie were perplexed as to why the latter never evolved. They had trained like madmen, if only because a young anti-social lad has little else to do with his spare time, only to have Dust never become a Metapod even after several years. Eventually, Clyde assumed Dust was simply incapable of evolving. It was on that day that he decided to train the most fearsome Caterpie to have ever walked this earth--a sentiment with which Dust himself seemed to adamantly agree.

...Unfortunately, that day also happened to be the one where his mother called him a bum and kicked him out. Since then, Clyde has been living on the streets, foraging and stealing to get by... all while obsessively training his loyal friend to be the very best, like no one ever was.

Wishlist: The most epic caterpie ever. Golett/Golurk. Ghost-type pokemon. Bug-types and Dark-types are close runner-ups, but ultimately he isn't limited to any one specific type. Dusk Balls and Net Balls would be useful.

    Catherine Levitt (Unnamed Dude) (open)
    Name: Catherine Levitt
    Gender: Female
    Age: 14
    Hometown: Garven City
    Occupation: Trainer/ Coordinator
    Appearance:
    Height: 5'1''
    Weight: 108 lbs
Catherine, being somewhat short and having not yet hit her growth spurt, is thin and not at all an imposing figure. Her golden hair usually comes down in two ponytails, but occasionally she lets it flow freely. Her eyes are green and bright. She is cute, but has not yet begun the transformation to "attractive" or even "pretty" yet. She does not like being reminded of this, and always subconsciously stands with prim and proper posture.

Most often her clothing consists of a loose white dress or other light clothing, such as a light blue shirt and green skirt. It's made of fleece, and if her hair is down, she wears a green hair band. Her footwear consists of expensive white high-heels. She does also have some more boyish attire for going unnoticed, including a ball cap without a logo and a somewhat baggy black shirt, paired with plain blue jeans and sneakers. These she obtained from the guards who helped her escape her old life.

For winter outings, she also has a red scarf and dark green coat, as well as big black boots.

    Personality/Motivations:
Catherine wants to be the best. At anything. At everything. She has the haughty, devil-may-care attitude to back it up, and the drive and talent to do so. However, this drive is almost obsessive, and sometimes gets in the way of her rational thinking. It is powered mainly by an overwhelming desire to be accepted and loved, and also an attempt to escape or even to lash out at her parents. While she can be serious and intelligent, too often she is blinded by this desire for attention and will eschew more sensible courses of action if she thinks she can do something noteworthy. In addition, Catherine has a fundamental lack of experience, insofar as it seems like she has no common sense, as a trade-off for her sheltered life.

Regardless of these shortcomings, though, those that get on her good side will find her a caring, if gullible, girl who likes adventure and a challenge.

    Backstory/Family:
Walter and Jane Levitt, rich prince and princess of powerful businesses, made sure to give little Catherine the most perfect childhood possible. She would have private tutors at advanced levels, practice training daily with a wide, wide selection of pokemon, ride some of them, and gardening was no stranger to her. Her meals and routines were carefully planned out to give them a perfect little girl.

And she hated every minute of it.

Catherine's parents had not married for love, they had married for money and power. Similarly, they were raising her to be their bargaining chip, their doll for them. They were not raising her flawlessly for her own good, but for theirs.

The only good part of her day was training practice, and she never had the time to bond with any of her pokemon. They were always switched out like some sort of terrible roulette each time. Her days were full of ennui and apprehension.

For as her parents held little love for each other, they also held very little love for the symbol of union. She was frequently shouted at, was allowed no friends, and punished arbitrarily. Thankfully she was not beaten often, but the times she was were frightening beyond belief for her.

Eventually it became too much; after another day of silently enduring shouting spells, she decided to just run. She didn't know where; it didn't matter. Anywhere was better than here.

She stole out in the middle of the night, having obtained the aid of some of the more sympathetic guards, and took with her a bag, clothes, her allowance, and two new eggs that had been shipped in earlier. She didn't have any clue what was in them, but she figured she'd take better care of them than this place.

    With that, she set out...

    Chuckles the Shuckle (WillowtheWhisp) (open)
    Pokemon Species: Shuckle
    Nickname: Chuckles
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male

History: The beginning of Chuckles' story starts with his procreation. Chuckles' parents are both Shuckles, as were their own parents, and so forth. Thus it is that Chuckles comes from a long and proud line of Shuckles- however, somewhere along the line, their blood was mixed with that of another Pokémon. Which Pokémon has long been forgotten- all that is known is that it has left its mark; Chuckles' family, as far back as they can remember, has had the ability to knock items right out of other Pokémon's hands. Using this ability, the Chuckles' family "ruled" over the small mountain (really a hill) that they lived upon. This was all just one massive state of hysteria of course, brought on by a "bully-like" mentality- his family had long ago convinced itself that they were the top dog Pokémon in the area.

Chuckles was always the odd-ball of his family; of his three other siblings, he was perhaps the only one that did not live up to his family name. Rather than running around and slapping the berries out of the other Pokémon, Chuckles seemed to befriend them instead. With his humorous and sociable nature, Chuckles got along well with the other Pokémon; he always seemed more adept at making them laugh, perhaps by juggling berries in the air with his feet, rather than "dominating" them. Both his parents and siblings did not take well to this- they would often disrupt Chuckles' performance by using the very skill they had been given- Knock Off. This would often cause the other Pokémon to flee from the scene, but Chuckles was persistent. Eventually deciding that Chuckles was not fit for their family, they officially disowned him.

So it was that Chuckles found himself homeless and without a family- and he was glad of it. Happy to be rid of such a delusional and annoying legacy, Chuckles promptly decided to travel down the mountain. Promising the friends he made that he would see them again, Chuckles set off. Leaving with a shell full of berries, given to him by his forest friends, Chuckles began his journey. He did not know yet where his journey would take him- only that he planned on enjoying himself as much as possible. Where there is Pokémon, there is fun to be had, he thought to himself then.

Traveling across the land, searching far and wide (for comedy gimmicks of course), Chuckles added more and more to his routine- balancing on spherical objects, though he does not own one of his own, and other circus tricks. He even has a small, red foam nose that he keeps in his shell- sometimes he wears it, the juices made in his shell serving as a mild adhesive. The red foam nose had been dropped by an unfortunate clown-pokémon trainer, who had promptly lost to a trainer on Route 2. In his rage, the clown had accidentally torn off his nose and tossed it into the bushes- where Chuckles had been watching. Chuckles hopes to add more to his clown collection- a large poofy wig, large toed shoes, and a polka dot shell cover. As he makes his way towards Alferast Village, Chuckles hopes that he will be able to fulfill his dream of becoming a circus Pokémon.

Personality: Chuckles is as his name suggests- he is always appreciative of a good joke, and is always happy to provide a laugh. His time on the mountain with only a select number of Pokémon has left him both naive and a little bit shameless- for what Pokémon with even a small amount of pride would resort to performing circus tricks? However, Chuckles enjoys his hobby more than anything, and is always hopeful that he will be able to make more friends by making them laugh. These traits, humorous, naive, and hopeful are all defining traits of Chuckles, and is how most anyone would describe him.

However, Chuckles does still know when a joke is most appropriate or not- funny things just aren't funny anymore if you're being bullied by other Shuckles. This was a hard lesson he learned from his time with his family; never appreciative of his good nature, his family tended to be even more mean spirited towards the "prodigal son". Though such a family might leave scars on other Shuckle, Chuckles has always kept his head up, knowing that somewhere else, in the bushes or a shallow cave, his friends were waiting for his next performance.

Finally, above all, Chuckles is persistent. Stemming from his hopeful nature, as well as his time as a "rebel" against his family, his indomitable will is nothing to joke about. He will neither give up, nor surrender, and can sometimes be quite courageous- sometimes to his disadvantage. Luckily, Chuckles has yet to meet a Pokémon so completely dull as to not appreciate a good joke or performance- therefore, Chuckles as managed to avoid getting into too many fights. Traveling on the road does come with its dangers though, and in such times, Chuckles is steadfast; explaining his meager battle experience.

Re: Pokemon RP: Tales from the Belvair Region

Another day begins in the bustling city of Garven, a beautiful city along the coasts of the Belvair Region. The cool late spring sun shines brightly upon the cityscape as a nice breeze brings the smell of ocean air throughout the city streets. People mill about on the fine day, walking through the streets on their daily routines. While all these people are walking near the west side of town, the oddest assortment of people can be seen in the same block. All could be recognized as Pokemon Trainers, as most trainers seem to stick out from the crowd, but other then owning Pokemon these people probably don't have anything in common, they just happen to be walking in the same direction at the time.

One of the strangers in the crowd, a boy named Mark, was minding his own business when a girl about his age ran headlong into him. Both Mark and the girl crashed to the ground, the girl's Pikachu patting his little hand on her arm to see if she was ok, when shouting could be heard ahead.

Harry had no problems seeing the commotion as three men started pushing their way through the crowds ahead, wearing black uniforms with a large red "R" emblazoned on their chests. One of them reached for something on their belt, and soon in a flash of red a large purple cobra slithered about before reaching it's head up. As people started to scream and run in all directions, the three men soon caught a glimpse of the crowd of unlucky trainers who stood with the strange girl now.

    "Arbok! Attack!"

The large snake slithered for a second, and with a hiss lunged at the group. Luckily, a trainer by the name of Clyde was quick enough to pull out his Pokeball. In a quick flash of light, a Caterpie likewise lunged at it's opponent, firing a glob of webbing at the large snake, blinding it and causing it to crash to the ground in a panic. Quickly launching another string shot to latch back onto Clyde, Dust pulled himself onto his trainer as the girl burst through the small group of trainers with her Pikachu quick behind her as she shouted.

    "Make a run for it!"

As she did, the other two Team Rocket members threw out Pokeballs of their own, as a Lairon and Machoke soon followed it's companion, the Machoke taking a second to pull the webbing from the Arbok's eyes.

Clyde's hand outstretched as his bug's string shot latched hold of his palm, a sudden whip of his arm tugging the caterpie through the air and landing it deftly on its trainer's shoulder--a maneuver the duo had practiced far too often. Thinking quickly, Clyde brought his hand to brace the caterpie's back holding him in place, in an attempt to keep the little one safe for now. Fragility was Dust's greatest weakness, and in the middle of an illegal battle was the last place this bug belonged. This was fair from a just fight, and a a lairon of all things was miles past their normal training fodder.

As his eyes widened with the adrenaline-pumping thrill of battle, a disturbed and toothy grin spread across his face. Clyde glanced towards the pikagirl trainer... scoffing slightly at the thought of running, before realizing in this situation Dust would be probably get his ass kicked. Still, giving up so easily wasn't in their blood. Instead, his bloodlust shouted out, "While they're distracted, Psychic!"

On command, the mere caterpie's eyes glowed a florescent blue, and an invisible force of telekinetic force launched forth from its body. The invisible power rushed towards its targets, and if it struck true, would crash the machoke into the very arbok it was trying to help... That is, if all Clyde's planning and all Dust's luck could pull such a feat.

Catherine Levitt pulled her baseball cap down, examining the sudden battle erupting in front of her. She had dressed herself in her more casual clothes for now, preferring to law low in the days following her escape. A few long strands of hair came down either side of her face and a single ponytail escaped from the hole made by the adjustment belt of the cap.

Nevertheless, it struck her as exceedingly odd to begin a battle in such a way and she had no clue why these black-coated Rocket rejects were after the girl. Three enemy pokemon stood before her, and she reached a hand to her belt... only to realize that this was not a training session and she did not have pokemon yet. She could feel the eggs clacking against one another in her bag, but that would do little good in an actual battle and especially not against these three behemoths.

Instead, she drew out her pokedex and pointed it at the three sinister looking trainers' pokemon. A soothing synthesized voice droned from it, "Lairon: the Iron Armor Pokemon. It feeds on iron from mineral water and iron ore to harden its body. Arbok: the Cobra pokemon. The pattern on its belly intimidates its enemies, and it constricts and poisons prey. Machoke: the Superpower pokemon. It has great strength and must wear a special power-save belt to regulate its movements, or else it would be uncontrollable."

Of those three only Lairon seemed familiar to her; she could recall faintly that she had sparred with an Aron before and it looked somewhat similar. Perhaps it was an earlier form of it...

While Catherine had been sizing up the enemy, another youth had busied himself with battling them, sending out... Caterpie. It wasn't the most awe-inspiring choice, but at least it wasn't as weak as it seemed, as it managed to blind one pokemon and fire up a Psychic attack in quick succession. Whether it would work as it was intended or not was a different story...

At any rate, she reluctantly and silently backed off, though she still put herself in between the pursued girl and the goons.

Mark got up from the ground and shook his head. "What wa-" he started to ask before being being cut off by screaming. Mark scanned his surroundings before seeing why people were yelling. Three men dressed in Black clothes with red R's emblazoned on them pushed their way through the crowd. Team Rocket. Mark Shuddered. Team Rocket was a notorious gang of criminals. Mark's father had fought them sometimes in Drilvin. "Arbok! Attack!" One of the men ordered. Mark began to run.

He stopped. Another flash of light had distracted him. More Team Rocket members? No, it wasn't that. It belonged to someone in the crowd. Out of the flash flew a small green caterpillar. The caterpillar pokemon fired a glob of webbing from it's mouth, hitting Arbok's eyes and blinding it for a few moments. String shot. Mark knew that attack easily, his own Wurmple, Danny knew the same attack. The Caterpillar pokemon latched back onto it's trainer using another string shot.

"Make a run for it!" The girl who had ran into him earlier shouted. Mark hesitated for a moment, then ran. However, his curiosity got the best of him. He stopped around the corner of a building and pulled out his pokedex. He took a second to turn off the voice, so the data would be given to him in the form of text to avoid being detected, and pointed at each, scanning them to find out about their abilities. The resulting data backed up what he had suspected beforehand. The three pokemon of team rocket were extremely powerful. Then he scanned the Caterpillar. "Caterpie: The worm pokemon. Its short feet are tipped with suction pads that enable it to tirelessly climb slopes and walls." Mark was shocked. Could such a weak pokemon really take on the three Rocket's? The owner of the Caterpie commanded a Psychic attack. Well, it looked like he was about to find out.

Alyn's pink dress fluttered as people ran by her, as she turns and looks to the commotion, barely making anything in the barrage of sound filling her ears. She reached to her messenger bag, and began to fiddle around, searching for a pokeball. her hand finds it and pulls it out, and quickly confirms that it was Darren, and not an empty pokeball. The ball left her right hand as she tossed it upwards hesitantly with a light underhand.

In front of her, a gligar appears, ready for combat. These guys looked tough, with big and scary looking pokemon. Alyn's hand was trembling with what could be anxiety, but much more likely to be a creeping sensation of fear.

A young man had also begun to fight them, and had commanded his green pokemon let loose an attack, even if it was a way back. Maybe his wimpy little bug stood a chance? So maybe Darren stood a chance too. Alyn wasn't sure, but she would try and fight these strange people. They certainly weren't good. "D-D-darren! U-use... sand attack!"

Were battles like these even close to regulation? Alyn kinda doubted this would be a fair fight, but what could she do? Her eyes flickered as she tried to make sense of what was going on, as her precious gligar began to Kick up a blast of sand in the direction of the goons' pokemon.

Harry walked through Garven City looking at all the people and the buildings. His loose fitting red tee shirt fluttered a bit in the breeze as Jolty was curled up over white letters spelling out 'Got Haste?' on the chest of the shirt. Harry reached into his light blue jeans pocket pulling out his MP3 player and putting one ear piece in. Harry turns it on as a song starts playing. 'I don't know what they're talking about I'm making my own decisions. This thing that I found ain't gonna bring me down I'm like a junkie without an addiction...' "There we go," Harry says aloud. looking around. "Huh. These city folk seem a bit small. Well I s'pose it ain't none o' ma business...what tha sam hell?" Harry had no problems seeing the commotion as three men started pushing their way through the crowds ahead, wearing black uniforms with a large red "R" emblazoned on their chests. "Team Rocket? I didn't think those bozoes were still 'round. Well, where ever they are trouble ain't far behind."

"Arbok! Attack!" Harry ran towards the commotion as the large snake slithered for a second, and with a hiss lunged at the group. Suddenly a kid sent out a Caterpie who fired a glob of webbing at the large snake, blinding it and causing it to crash to the ground in a panic. Harry switched the song on his MP3 player and turned the volume up a bit. "Need some good battle music mhm." Out of the one earpiece that just lay across Harry's chest come another song. 'Well it's midnight, damn right, we're wound up too tight. I've got a fist full of whiskey, the bottle just bit me. Oh. That shit makes me bat shit crazy We've got no fear, no doubt, all in balls out...' Harry hears a girl shout "Make a run for it!" as the other two Rocket Grunts sent out their Pokemon, a Machoke and a Lairon.

"Really?! Poison, Fightin', an' Steel/Rock?! Jolty, you can't really do nothin' ta those Pokemon. Best follow tha girl's advice." Harry looked at the two people who had their Pokemon out and attacking. A girl in a dress had a Gligar using Sand-Attack and the guy wearing darker clothes whose Caterpie now was using Psychic. Harry called out to the two other trainers, "Hey! I don't think yens 'ill be able ta win this! Those Pokemon 're too strong! Come on!"

Varius watched as events unfolded. He didn't think he would be able to have a sizable effect on the goon squad musclin' their way through, so he made sure he was well outta the way of them. He looked at the lazy sloth currently getting a piggy back ride, hunched up on Varius' backpack. "Kongo, you up for some action?"

Its face slowly moved over to regard its master, the look on its face saying "DGAF, bro!" Shortly after, its bored gaze turned towards the Lairon. Their eyes met. Kongo Yawned, then started to go to sleep. "Yeah, me either. Let's go over there", he said, making sure to get well away from the rest of the group.

Launching into full combat now, Dust was quick to act by using it's amazing mind to slam the Machoke with psychic energy, causing the Machoke to step back for a moment before charging at the Caterpie, launching forward and ignoring the fact sand flew into it's face as it launched a powerful Mega Punch, slamming the poor bug Pokemon off of Clyde and bouncing off the sidewalk.

Arbok flailed about, frustrated it just got sand in the eyes after the webbing just got out.

Lairon though, charging forward, lowered it's head from the sand and lunged forward, slamming it's iron-like skull into the smaller flying Gligar, the Headbutt sending the poor creature tumbling through the air.

Sirens can be heard off in the distance, but it might take them too long to get here at this rate.

Clyde could do little more than blink before a Machoke was in his face, its fist launching over his shoulder and shooting the little caterpie straight out from under his suddenly-sweating palm. With a pathetic little squeal, his crazyface abruptly returned to normal. His torn-up sneakers made quick work of the pavement, as he hesitantly scurried after the pikagirl trainer. It turns out her advice was easily the most sound he had heard all week.

In mid-stride, his hand braced a seldom-used poké ball hanging inside his hoodie. As the bruised and bleeding Dust bounced off the ground a second time, he abruptly vanished in a beam of light, before vanishing into the very ball in Clyde's hand. If one punch was that brutal, the novice trainer knew well enough this fight was already over.

As he hustled out of the battle, he glanced back for a moment with a grimace--disgusted at abandoning the battle, disgusted with his own weakness. With clenched teeth, his sneakers came to a skidding halt in the dirt, fists held tight. Dust was out of the fight and Clyde himself was on the furthest fringes of the battle... glancing over his shoulder, momentarily, as the pace of his feet began to slow nearly as soon as they hastened.

Well, as he thought, the goons were pretty damn dangerous. Already it looked like any would-be opposers would be running for the hills. The Rocket trainers seemed fairly open, and for a moment Varius considered beating them up with the napping Kongo as an impromptu weapon, but not knowing what Team Rocket was doing here, he had no reason to put him on their shit list just yet. What were they after? That little girl and her 'chu?

Whatever they were wanted, they seemed to want blood in the process, so Varius started to high-tail it, going in the same direction of the other trainers.

Catherine recalled her studies, gleaning for any useful information as the Caterpie was knocked over and a new girl, who released a Gligar, also attempted to fight back. It had roughly as little success as the first trainer's attack, even though the sand flew true and hit the opposing pokemon's eyes. The only one who seemed even partially affected was Arbok, who had been blinded twice now, by Catherine's count.

Before there were poke balls... people had used hollowed-out apricorns. No, she couldn't capture these ones, and she had no Apricorns anyway. In the Safari Zone, she knew that people weren't allowed to take pokemon in with them... however, she was sure they were able to use bait or their poke balls in order to capture the species contained within. None of that information did her any good, as she wasn't attempting to capture one and couldn't; these were already owned, and she had no bait or food on her at the moment. Curses. She knew all about capturing them, but battling one without a pokemon of her own? No, there shouldn't even be a need for such a thing, as far as her parents were concerned...

She crouched down and drew a little closer as she remembered the Gligar's attack, scooping a bit of dirt, packing it around a rock, in her hand. Crude, but it would have to do. She tossed the wad of earthly matter at the Machoke's face, not even bothering to see if it would hit where she wanted to or not. "What are you waiting for?! Run!" She called behind her to the other girl, before turning her full attention to the road ahead, and finding obstacles she could put between her and the Rockets.

Her gligar was battered and beaten before her very eyes, with only a single hit from this pokemon covered in iron. Alyn stood there for a moment in shock, before the voice of a young teenager brought her back to reality.
"Um... Right! Darren, come on!" she held out her pokeball, and with a flash of light, Darren returned to his pokeball. She dropped the ball in her bag as she turned around, and began to move as quickly as her dress would let her go, taking glances back every so often to see if they were following her, and did her best to follow the girl that may have called out to her and get away from the men who attacked.

Harry watched as the two trainers recalled their Pokemon and started to run. Harry waited until they were past him before turning to run himself. As he ran he stayed at the end to make sure the Rocket Grunts didn't try anything. Harry kept his eyes back on the Grunts as he ran, tripping over something on the ground. Harry tumbled for a few seconds before getting back up and continuing running.

Mark could hardly believe his eyes. The Rocket pokemon had destroyed both trainers. Then, another girl had the courage to throw dirt at the pokemon? Suddenly, the group started to run. They were running in his direction. Mark panicked for a moment. So much for stealth. The group was rapidly approaching. "Ah, well, I suppose I should escape with them. After all, they seem to be trainers, like myself, and they are coming this way." Mark thought aloud. Then, his mind made up, he slipped into the crowd of running trainers.

With the Trainers all realizing that it was a losing battle, they began their hasty retreat from the attack. One of the Rocket Grunts called out to his Lairon, "quick, stop them before they can get away!" The Lairon began to charge towards the group, but as he was starting he stopped, then opened his mouth wide and let out a monsterous yawn before settling down for a nap. "You fool, wake up you stupid useless Pokemon!"

As he yelled at his Pokemon, another Grunt sighed and started to run after the group, but stopped as he saw his Machoke not following him. While Lairon was beginning his nap, Machoke had been hit on the side of the head with a small rock covered in dirt, and had began to smash anything close by to try and find out who in the panicing crowd had thrown it. "Machoke! They went that way! Get them!" With Machoke refocused, he began running off down the street as his trainer ran close behind, while the last one darted off in the opposite direction with his Arbok, heading towards the sound of sirens.

Running as fast as they could, the group of trainers saw the mysterious girl and her Pikachu round the corner of the block, quickly catching up to see more streets full of people, milling about their day unaware of the Machoke that would be thundering around the corner, smashing out the side of the building as he does.

do people even read this thing

Things seemed to be wrapping up rather quickly. Kongo had managed to stop the Lairon in its tracks, for now. That machoke could still wreck the poor fools, though, so he continued to run, but thought Kongo could still save the day in a very lazy day. The lazy bugger still had his arms wrapped around Rayna's neck, his eyes half open. Were it any other time, he could probably learn to chill from that guy.

Varius stopped just long enough to face the approaching Machoke. "Kongo, he's mad. Show him him how to relax!"

Kongo's Yawn move came out much slower than it needed to, which Varius was sure was a cruel, horribly timed joke. Varius started to run again, fifty-pound sloth weighing him down.

As he scurried away like a rodent with a tail between its legs, Clyde heard only the Machoke chasing them now. It has hard to miss such heavy feet bashing into pavement, even over the sounds of sirens. Maybe... perhaps if there was just one, he considered... No, at this rate something who had twice of his entire muscle mass in its legs, there would be no escape.

Clyde's teeth clenched with frustration as he dug into his pocket for his second most valuable possession. Fumbling with the potion mid-stride, he shoved the nozzle towards the button of Dust's poké balll and sprayed with all of his vigor. He was already beginning to stumble over the street and the crowd, his malnourished body fumbling as his breath already grew heavy.

Knowing he couldn't keep it up much longer, Clyde cackled as his body spun and fell away from the Machoke. His hand loosed the bug's ball once more with a shout, "Dust, T3! Show them who the hell we are!!" His back whacked loudly into the ground beneath him, laces interwoven with his ankles, and the potion battle he wielded smashing into the ground. His lungs clawed for air, and he hoped with all he could that Dust would remember how to use the tripping maneuver effectively... He clawed onto one foot, gasping as his eyes grew wide and his irises grew beady. His teeth grew into a twisted grin, as his voice hoarsely shuddered, "Never pick a fight with a masochist."

Dust soared through out of his spinning ball and flouished the air, a vicious glare in his beady little eyes... as the vicious fury of ten-thousand fainted Lv2 Caterpies unleashed from his face in the form of: CATERPIE used STRING SHOT!!
