    Alexandra ‘Alexa’ Scarlet (Eevachu)

    Gender: Female

    Age: 19

    Hometown: Nimbasa City, Unova

    Occupation: Annoying Tourist

    Appearance:

Alexandria, or Alexa as she's sometimes called, stands 5'1" and weighs 90 lbs, about average size for her age. She usually carries multiple pairs of a single outfit, having not packed much variety for her trip. It consists of a yellow ribbon tied around the collar of her black overshirt, and a white undershirt only seen coming up her neck. It also includes a short plaid skirt with no pockets, thigh-high stockings, and dress shoes. . . Not exactly the best traveling clothes, but she wears what she likes. She's very wary of the skirt, making sure nothing 'indecent' happens due to how relatively short it is. . . But, if we really need to go into that, the wind may cause flashes of black to appear from under the skirt if the conditions are right. Avert your eyes, perverts. . .

She herself has long, auburn hair, tracing the reasons why her last name is probably Scarlet, accented by deep brown eyes and light skin. She's very thin in build, her arms looking like nothing more than twigs when her clothes outline their form. Long legs make up most of her height, leaving her overall body to look a bit smaller than it really is. Though her name doesn't exactly platform it, one would be able to tell from her face that she's clearly of oriental decent. Along with that, her speech pattern also has a bit of a light occasional Asian accent.

Her belongings are kept in a black bag she slings over her shoulder, the only real equipment she owns for travel purposes. It's nothing really super glamorous, being a single strapped, fabric backpack-type deal. It's got a few pockets on the exterior for smaller items like Potions or Poké Balls, which she separates into different pockets based on if they're used or not. The flap opens up to the interior, where the larger stuff can be stored. It's usually kept to her left shoulder, but she may be inclined to switch it to the right if it begins to drag her down. Being super energetic, she ends up alternate the holding positions a lot throughout her travels.

Alexa prefers to travel with her Pokémon right beside her rather than in their balls. While she wouldn't keep them out when it's not appropriate or when a situation becomes dangerous for them, she'd rather have the peace of mind knowing her friends were with her, rather than trapped in the magical capsule land that Pokémon go off to when they're in the balls. Along with the sense of company they bring her, she also has a good sense of security when they're around. . . Since without them, she's pretty much a scrawny, defenseless girl running around foreign lands far, far from home. It's more easing on the mind when little creatures that pretty much super powers are tagging along with you, no?

    Personality:

Alexa is a very energetic person. It is a struggle for her to sit still, and she always has to be on the move. She can generally be seen bouncing around or something of that nature. If she has to sit down and sit still, she will generally start squirming a little bit, her body anxious to move around. Most of the time, she is super happy, towards her Pokemon, her friends, or anyone she gets along with, really. These traits tend to create somewhat odd situations in public, as she might occasionally shout too loudly or move and bump into somebody else.

While it isn't exactly a common sight, if Alexa gets angry, she can take some time to simmer down. Due to events in her past, she absolutely hates when someone insults another person, and will almost immediately get angry and confrontational with that person. She tries to stay self-aware about insulting others, as she had been hurt badly by insults before, and wouldn't want someone else to feel the same pain. To go along with this, insults hit very personally and very hard for her, and being insulted can easily break her or make her extremely upset. While all of this is true, it doesn't make Alexa a shy person. In fact, she is generally very abrupt and direct with her thoughts and feelings, and is typically not shy at all.

This doesn't mean she becomes easy friends with everyone she meets. While she doesn't have a problem talking to people, Alexa, whether subconsciously or by choice, mentally distances herself from people she meets. As such, it is somewhat difficult for her to actually become close friends with someone else. This is likely due to emotional scarring caused by her high school bullying, and the fear that came as a direct result of that.

Although Alexa has gotten into fight or two in the past, she hasn't really had any experience with actual, real fighting and would most definitely lose if she actually got into a fight against someone with the slightest bit of combat experience or physical strength/size. As for Pokémon battling, although she understands the idea of Pokémon battling, she has very minimal, if almost no experience with strategy and Pokémon battling. As such, most actual strategy and decisions would be left more up to her Pokemon.

One odd quirk about her is her sense of taste towards cute things. While most things commonly accepted as cute- Such as kittens, Pichu, Cleffa, and what-not- are shared by her, Alexa has an odd tendency to find things generally found as un-cute, well, cute! Not because they are found as un-cute, or because she wants to make them feel better, or anything of that sort. She just has odd tastes. To a lesser extent, this can branch over into other genre, such as for beauty and coolness. However, those are to a much lesser extent, and for the most part it only applies to cuteness.

To go along with this, though Alexa may have a hard time getting attached to others, she has a tendency to 'fangirl' towards something she finds cute, whether it be a cute Pokemon, or a cute boy. It is something she has a hard time controlling due to her hyperactive nature, but it can be the scene of some embarrassing moments.

She is Chinese, and this can be shown in her speech. She can occasionally be found to have a light Cantonese accent in her voice, though she tries to suppress it. This is mostly towards strangers, and around friends when she is more relaxed it may come out more often. Either way, it is something she finds a tad embarrassing.

    Backstory:

Alexa was born in the Nimbasa Region of Unova. Her mother, Julia Scarlet, was a dancing coordinator at the Musical Theater. Along with giving dance lessons to Pokémon entering the competition, she also held her own classes, teaching Pokémon and human alike how to dance. She was a fairly good dancer, and her classes had a nice, steady flow of customers, eager to learn how to dance. As for her father, he worked in the Battle Subway. His job was mostly to ensure one of the trams ran smoothly, and that the Pokémon on board were healed after each battle.

Once Alexa was born, her dad had to take off work to take care of her. This was due to the fact that her mother's dancing generally made more money, so it was less harmful to their finances for him to take off instead. She was quite a handful to raise, as she would always run around, run off, and would never sit still. Things started to get a little bit less difficult as she grew up, but she could still be a handful often.

For the first few school years- as in, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade- things weren't bad. Although the teachers could have a somewhat tough time keeping up with her due to the way she was, she was overall a good student. She didn't get in trouble very often, and although her grades weren't perfect, they were decent and passable. However, there was one big problem, in that she didn't have any friends. For the most part, not many other students showed interest in being her friend. She would always approach others and introduce her overwhelmingly happy, energetic self, but it likely came off a little bit too strongly toward the other students. That tended to push people away, at least, in these cases it did.

However, things started changing as time went on. That was great, yeah? Finally make some friends, right? No, sadly. By the time Alexa was in fourth grade, her efforts to make friends were still in vain, but kids had now started bullying her. This wasn't necessarily due to her personally or anything, and bullying is everywhere, after all. It was only a couple kids, nothing too serious. They were little kids, too, so their attempts at insults were poorly done, usually resulting in half-finished insults that only insulted themselves- Not that they'd realize it, anyway.

Of course, it still hurt Alexa. After all, teasing was teasing regardless of how good it was, especially to a little girl. It wasn't very bad, though. . .yet. As time went on, Alexa moved onward into middle school. The same kids tried to tease her, but they had gotten a little bit better at it. It was still pretty bad though, comparatively. A few more had joined into it too, but they weren't any better, and it continued on throughout high school. The bullying began to become more severe, so Alexa found herself isolated away from school more often than not due to a lack of friends. In response to this, her father got her a Pokemon; a baby Pichu as a pet. It was a female, which she named Nanako.

After Alexa graduated, she decided to leave Nimbasa, and take a trip to Crepus. Though she loved her parents, those who bullied her still remained, and she had lived in Nimbasa all her life. A fresh location and start, whether for vacation or not, would probably do her a lot of good. Her parents were supportive of her decision, and her father used his connections to get her a Pokemon Egg and powerful TM, which would likely come in handy should she end up acquiring any other Pokemon. Sworn to protect her, the Oshawott Yu decided to accompany her to this strange new land.

    Irene Silver (Cataphractoi)

    Gender: Female

    Age: 22

    Hometown: Goldenrod City

    Occupation: Trainer

Appearance: As an heiress, Irene was once in on the latest trends and fashions. Now, she has little choice but to keep her identity a secret, and has gone to great lengths for anonymity. She wears her black hair unadorned or in a ponytail, with her bangs covering her entire forehead at all times. Most of her clothes are simple and unfashionable, and generally in muted colors. She has a variety or pants, skirts, dresses, and shirts, but they’re all of the cheapest designs possible and little more than colored fabric. She wears no accessories these days, and has abandoned all trapping of her former life.

Physically, Irene is attractive but not stunning. She has black hair and blue eyes, and a body somewhere between thin and wide- in other words, of average shape. Her limbs are neither pencil thin nor thick, and she lacks an hourglass figure without being round. She comes in at around 5’ 6” and 140 pounds.

Personality/Motivations: Irene was once confident and exuberant; the type of person that walks into a room and commands respect. She was brilliant, and a natural born leader. Now, stripped of her career and family, Irene has taken on a different personality entirely. Her confidence is gone, as she has been reduced to the status of beginner, and she has found herself riddled with anxiety and shy as a result. She ultimately, at heart, wants to be a good person, but finds it difficult to trust people after her trial and subsequent disownment.

Backstory/Family: Irene started life as a member of the prestigious Hobbes family. As the oldest daughter, she was educated from birth with the intention of inheriting the family company. She excelled in her studies, and everyone expected her to be a perfect CEO. However, shortly after she graduated from college, her life exploded in her face.

Irene was recorded leaving the scene of a murder days before assuming a position in her family’s company. The media circus surrounding the case was enormous- the wealthy, privileged daughter of the Hobbes family, being tried for murder! Her defense team argued self defence, but the media said otherwise- the news reports widely pegged her as a psychopath, using her money and influence to kill people and get away with it. When she was acquitted on all charges, the world exploded in outrage.

Whether Irene had actually murdered the person or not, whether it was self defence or unprovoked…that was all immaterial. The Hobbes name was being dragged through the mud, and it was causing massive damage to the company. She was publicly disowned shortly after the trial ended and black listed by every major company. Irene was trained in business, and no one would ever trust her in such a role ever again. Irene herself refuses to state what actually happened- weighing in either way, now, would be seen as an insult to her family.

Alone and destitute, Irene had few choices left. She abandoned her birth name and asked for one last boon- a Pokemon with which to start a career as a trainer. Her parents, whether to show their support or make her go away, granted the request: she was handed a rare golden Charmander, a few of her things, and some pocket change.

    Claire Clover (Guy)

    Gender:Female

    Age:22

Hometown: believed to be Five Island, off the shore Kanto

Occupation: Occult Fanatic, Pokémon Photographer, Fisherman

    Appearance, Personality, & Motivations
Claire is diminutive for a grown woman, as her petite form barely reaches a height of five feet. Matching her tiny height is a tiny, straight-as-a-board frame that barely reaches 90 lbs. This isn't out of diet or will or even luck--she has spent virtually her entire life poor, and as a result lived a mildly malnourished childhood that has stunted her growth. Her long, thin black hair and cold pale skin often gives her a sickly look as well. Just about the only thing healthy-looking about her are a pair of bright blue eyes on an otherwise monochrome face usually devoid of make-up.

Even though she grew up in a tropical region, Claire's skin has never adapted well to sunlight. Seemingly incapable of tanning and constantly burning, her limbs almost always covered in her trademark white-and-gray tights, over which she usually wears a hooded violet t-shirt (which on occasion isn't dirty) and a black skirt. A pair of thin-framed black glasses frequently fall down her dainty nose. Most of her belongings, of which there aren't many, reside in a small brown backpack. An old-fashioned shutter camera is omnipresently dangling around her neck. A straw hat with a violet ribbon is always atop her head, protecting her face from the sun.

Despite her frail appearance, Claire has proven herself to be anything but. Despite the squalor of her single father, her physical frailty, and a lonely upbringing, she managed to scrape enough together to get off that tiny island. She has few if any friends, and knows little of the world other than what she stole away in likely outdated books. Nonetheless, she is determined to get by through this life by any means necessary--and the last thing she will ever do is bend over like her father did.

Claire is inherently nervous around strangers, but forces herself to be social when necessary. This causes many of her conversations to become awkward. She is comparatively more comfortable around pokémon, even around those hostile towards her. Despite her shy nature, she is very curious about the world, and enjoys unraveling its many mysteries.

Claire possesses several useless skills she gathered from her father and through stolen books. She's a good angler, knows her way around cameras, and is a helluva gardener. Despite what one might expect from a frail girl, she grew up catching and preparing her own Magikarp, so is hardly squeamish -- and is surprisingly adept at fending for herself in the wild.

Rather than wanting to be the very best, Claire mostly just wants to get by and live her life. She has a pointed interest in anything paranormal, thanks to studying old books on the subject. One of her goals is to visit Lavender Town someday, said to have more occult activity than any other city in the world!

Although Claire wants to catch 'em all, it isn't in the way you might think. Her second-strongest passion is for Pokémon photography. Capturing rare, occult, or paranormal activity on film is her greatest goal. She also just enjoys snapping beautiful pictures of rare pokémon in their natural habitat, too. These days, though, classic shutter film development is hardly lucrative or even a viable hobby, as practically every other woman her age can afford one of those damn smartphones. Still, she read somewhere that ghosts can only be captured on traditional film... so maybe she has that going for her...

Claire trains pokémon as more of a necessity than a passion, and considers her pokémon more akin to friends than tools--which is perhaps why they're so weak compared to those damn try-hard ace trainers. She has a particular interest in catching weird or paranormal pokémon, with a tendency towards Ghosts, Psychic-types, and Bugs.

    Backstory/Family
Mrs. Clover left when Claire was still a child, for reasons her father has yet to reveal to her. Though she knows she has a more extended family, the only one she really knows is the father who raised her--Clarence Clover. For as long as Claire can remember, he's always worked several jobs, trying to pay off debt that piled up in his youth.

Though her father did love her with all his heart, he could rarely be there for his daughter. Claire was forced to more or less raise herself, especially once she was old enough to talk and walk and take care of herself. She vaguely remembers going to a public school in some other region, before her father was shipped off to some wealthy family that lived on an island to serve as their chief gardener. It was a higher wage than he ever made beforehand, but also long hours...

It left a then 10-year-old Claire teaching herself through numerous books--many of which she stole--and finding what she could on the tiny Five Island. It left her at least with a relatively independent spirit. When her father wasn't busy, she did thoroughly enjoy spending time with him--and inherited his green thumb, if little else. After home-schooling herself into her late teens, Claire managed to bounce between several part-time jobs on the island, though could never even so much as afford an Internet connection.

Around the time she turned 20, her father had almost completely paid off his debt. It was at this point Claire decided she did not want to live that life--working day in and day out for crumbs. She would rather risk it as a freelancer, as a trainer, or something--something--than be stuck isolated on a tiny island with nothing to her name but a small pile of coins. She saved up what she could to get away, said goodbye to her father, and bought a ticket on a ferry out of that town. All she had to her name was the clothes on her back, and her dad's Pinsir--which was more trained for hedge-clipping than battling.

A little over a year has passed since then, though Claire has little to show for it. Through odd jobs and pokémon battles, she's barely broken even. Even Poké Balls are like a luxury to her, and so far she has only caught an Abra--which has been useful for running away, if little else. Nonetheless, Claire remains proud that she has remained self-sufficient--relying on no one but herself and her own cute pokémon.
