PF(Novice) Thread - Burnt Offerings

With no hesitation, Tara let go of the rogue's hand, and ran towards to sign labeled 'Dragon Races.'

Jacob listens to the speakers. "Sombitch I was right." As the speakers stopped Jacob chuckles and looks around. "'Ey it's Rael." Jacob walks over to his new friend.

Placing a hand on Rael's shoulder Jacob speaks. "Howdy Rael. Whatcha ya lookin' at?"

Syl, entranced by the roar of the crowd and the draw of the games, momentarily lost herself in the spectacle. Coming to, she waved Jacob and Rael over but didn't even wait for them as she ran off to the "Goblin Toss" game.

As Tara approaches the location of the so called dragon races back in the market square, she finds a miniature racetrack set up on the ground in the center of the square, with a few small cages with lizards no bigger than the palm of her hand. Each of the 12 lizards are painted different colors, and have little twigs and cloth tied to them to make them look almost as if they were little dragons.

A bunch of kids seem to be very interested in this game, and a few scraggly looking adults seem to be into it as well. "Come now, one and all to the DRAGON RACES! It's only a single copper to play. Get your dragon to cross the Finish line! Will it be the gold dragon? or the red one? Maybe our special pink dragon."

Tara hears a feminine voice, with an elvish accent whisper into her ear , "keep an eye on those men, they're acting rather suspicious."

Sylis finds out upon her arrival to the Goblin Toss game, back near the stables where they came into town, that it happens to be a beanbag toss, with the beanbags sewn to look like small plush goblins with stupid names written on it, being run by a gruff looking blackhair man. The holes are designed to look like small fires, and each hole away from the starting line gets progressively smaller. "Interested? Only a Copper to play."

Even though her excitement died for a moment when she found out that she wasn't throwing real goblins, the game still excited her and quickly revived her spirits. Tossing down a copper, she almost yells: "Let's play!"

Half of her was hoping for real dragons. Even though that would be highly dangerous, she would still love to watch the show. Smiling, she was just about to lay a copper coin down for the blue 'dragon', when she heard a voice. She quickly turned around to see who had talked to her.

"Goblin toss eh? Why not. I'm a bit short on money though." Jacob shakes his near empty coin sack. Shrugging he walks over to Syl.

"Figured they ain't real goblins. Heh. Good luck Sylis."

The gruff stablemaster hands each of the three festival goers a set of 3 dolls. "You get 3 tosses, Girly here, you get ta go for the middle one, and you hafta aim for the one in back, and stand at the line, mind ya. Make all of them, and ya win"

((Each of you gets to make 3 ranged attack rolls, Sylis against AC 12, but you take a -2 penalty for the distance from the line, and Rael suffers the same penalty, but must hit AC 15. if the total of your roll equals the AC or higher, the goblin falls into the hole and is considered a hit))

When Tara turns around, there doesn't seem to be anyone in particular standing behind her. The men who seem interested in the goblin races give a heart laugh before resuming their conversation just out of your earshot.

Syl jumped excitedly up and down as the last 'goblin' went in the hole, hugging both Rael and Jacob while doing so.

Curious, Tara takes a couple steps closer to the men talking so she could hear. Trying to play it cool. She waved over the man running the Dragon Race game, and laid down a copper coin for the blue dragon.

The gruff looking Stablemaster gives a hearty laugh as the goblins sink into the holes, before walking up to the two, patting them on the shoulder, and handing Syl a bag filled to the brim with deer jerky, and giving Rael a small wooden hair pin with a simple decorative butterfly, before shooing them off, and returning to interacting with some younger kids, laughing as they ask him questions.


Tara:
You put the "Dragon" into the race track while a few kids and two adults put down theirs, until there were 6 of them on the track. The goal is to get your lizard to move from one end to the other end 30 feet away.

((Make a handle animal check to try and get the dragon to move(Make like 6), if you don't have handle animal, make charisma checks instead, but there's a penalty involved))

2. 17 + 3 = 20

Jacob looks at the man running the Goblin Toss. 'Is that tha guy I'm lookin' fer?' His thoughts are disrupted with a hug from Sly. "Good job." Jacob smiles and nods at her before walking over to the man.

"'Suce me. May I ask yer name? I'm lookin' fer a friend o' ma mother's an ya look like 'im."

Syl became intrigued by this new game just as much as the previous one, and began to make her way through the crowd to this new game but noticed one of her companions making his way away from them.

Partially using her excitement to fuel her, Syl bounced up and down so she could see above the crowd and yelled "Jacob!-Devil-Hunt!" at the peak of each jump.
