    Name: Kalvar Gran Darhun
    Race: Hylian
    Age: 19
    Gender: Male
Place of Origin: Refugee of the Western Caves
    PWC: 3/1/5
    Treasures & Rupees:
    Racial Perk: Sense
    Racial Perk: Hero's Legacy
Twisted Racial Perk: Dice of the Winds (open)

Whenever Kalvar awakens after a restful slumber, he will find a faceless die in his palm.

If Kalvar throws or drops one this die, on the first impact the die makes with a solid surface, Kalvar will vanish into a swirling mist of leaves blown by unseen wind that move towards the die. When the die comes to a full rest, the leaves and die will fuse together, and Kalvar will reappear where the die had landed. The die is consumed in this fusion. If the die's course is altered, then this teleportation does not occur.

There is always at least a few seconds between when a die impacts and comes to a full stop, as if some supernatural influence is forcing every roll to be long and dramatic.

Regardless of whether or not this die is used or lost, when Kalvar next awakens after a restful slumber he will again find it in his palm.

    Equipment:

Kalvar's armor is rather simple. Studded leather armor protects his upper body, as well as a pair of leather arm guards to protect his own arms from his own bow just in case it snaps against him. It's seen better days, with the edges of the leather starting to get worn.

While he used to go barefoot primarily, he's found himself wearing boots more often. More accurately, a lovely gift from a fair maiden known as "Blessed Boots" adorns his feet. The protection from taking damage from falling really helped in his travels.

His sword hangs at his side, rather forgotten. Only used whenever he's forced into melee combat, Kalvar prefers his bow. The sword itself is pretty forgettable, a curved longsword. The only remarkable thing about it is how shiny it is, given that it's so unused. Kalvar takes good care of it.

A Hawkeye is almost always resting on his face. Acting as not only a pair of goggles but an easy way for him to scout about. After all, being able to see perfectly from miles away for an archer is a valuable skill. Previously his most prized possession, its position as the favorite has been replaced by his bow.

His bow is not just a bow. It is also his closest companion. It, or rather, she goes by the title of "Fairy of the Winds," or any variation of the words. "Wind Fairy" also suffices, but she prefers her full title. Never really gives anyone, including Kalvar, an actual name. Believing herself to be a true fairy of the winds, Kalvar isn't going to argue with her. Made from Everwood, with Gripskin grips and Glow Iron bands at the top and bottom, the bow looks pretty impressive. With the multiple wind gems, it can practically fire an arrow with a burst of wind every few seconds.

Kalvar's hair is always cut in a rather uneven short shape, often just sliced off with a blade as compared to actually being trimmed professionally. His blonde hair is quite the contrast when paired with his startlingly bright blue eyes. With long Hylian ears that stay close to his skull, pointy chin, paired with a nose that looks just a bit too small for his face, he's quite the sight, even amongst other Hylians.

Kalvar's long arms and legs have resulted in him being rather lithe yet lanky at the same time, despite his obvious muscular growth from his travels and combat pursuits. Standing tall at 6'1", and weighing only 150 pounds, Kalvar is dangerously close to actually being underweight. There is barely any fat on his body, practically skin, muscles and bones alone. He could easily be compared to a muscular toothpick.

Only recently has he begun to wear boots, much to his personal dismay, and years of walking barefoot have left him with calluses and a dozen older scars that aren't likely to fade any time soon. On top of that, Kalvar wears a simple leather glove that he cut up properly to be able to function as protection for his nigh-constant use of a bow without injuring his hand. Despite that, some calluses and a few really old scars exist on his fingers and arm from overuse and the bow's string snapping him from when he was younger.

    Personality:
Kalvar is a person who often struggles to seem as self-reliant as possible. He wants to be the leader figure in a group, desires to be the person people look up to and aspire to be, and even believes that there is hardly a shot better than him in all of Hyrule. And yet, he often finds himself paired with individuals whom he respects and gravitates towards their opinions and ideas, often even looking down upon himself in comparison. A great warrior instantly wants him to better himself with a sword, while a great magician makes him feel pitiful in compare with his own control over magic. And yet, they only inspire him to improve even further rather than constantly dwelling in self-doubt or insecurity.

While he rarely accepts help from others, preferring to hunt for his own food and boil his own water to drink, he isn't above simply purchasing goods either. However, a gift is rarely accepted unless a gift is given in return. He doesn't like the idea of being pitied or looked down upon by anyone, his pride one of his most important things to him. Even when he is sick or injured, he is hardly going to mention his struggles to anyone.

Despite his attempts to be as self-sufficient as possible, and his own refusal of gifts, he often always does his best to try and take care of others he deems that have it worse than himself. Whether it's leaving freshly carved and properly treated meat and leather at a poor woman's home, to leaving a bag of Rupees at the elderly woman's door who let him stay the night. In his mind, he isn't weak and can fend for himself. However, there are many in this world who can not. They deserve help way more than he ever would.

Despite his skill at combat and tactics, he usually has a one track mind. Charging into trouble without realizing just how seriously dangerous it can be, whether it's some world ending or otherwise, he wouldn't ever refuse a chance to prove himself, which is often his fatal flaw. Especially when he is paid to do a job, such as slay an evil foe or just gather a few wildlife for the local village he just passed, he often struggles to take care of himself in the meantime. Forgetting to sleep, eat, or even drink water until he feels like he really needs to. And by then, it's always a bit too late to be healthy.

    Background:
Kalvar was born in Kakariko village, but he can remember almost none of his life there. Before he can even really walk, Kakariko was attacked by Ganon's forces and eventually overwhelmed by them. Him and his mother successfully fled, making it to the Western Caves as refugees. However, his father, a member of the guard in Kakariko, seemingly vanished after the conflict. It's presumed he died, the body lost inside the city and forever unable to be found.

His mother was incredibly depressed after his father's death, and she grew distant from the world asides from her immediate close circle of friends. However, she even distanced herself from Kalvar, who grew up relatively alone. At first, he missed his mother's close embrace but grew to learn to love being by himself. He was his own best friend, making up his own little stories and playing pretend by himself, he was a social outcast from the very beginning. Not many kids wanted to play with him, yet he didn't mind. He didn't really know how to talk to people either, so his social skills suffered quite badly. He was the quiet kid, often daydreaming or reading books by himself.

However, as he grew Kalvar found himself eventually growing disinterested with books. From others, he heard about how his father was a proud soldier who protected the village to his very end, and he was inspired to be just like him. He started leaving the caves, training on his own amongst the wilderness. Swords were no good against the wild animals and only worked up close, so he learned to hunt properly. Utilizing a bow, he trained for many years, launching arrows with remarkable ease eventually. As with all training, he still painfully remembers the stings from his own string smacking against his forearm as he learned. It's a skill which he has poured his very heart and soul into, to be good, as compared to any natural born talent.

One day, he came home from one of his hunting trips to find his mother impatiently awaiting him. She scolded him for going out on his own without a word, which absolutely shocked Kalvar to his very core. She never used to care before, she never even once asked where he went when he was a kid, why was it suddenly so different now? Through some soft probing, he discovered it was the anniversary of the attack, and she simply couldn't hold it in anymore, and just went to bed.

Kalvar didn't know what to do, his mother had never shown much care before. His father died fighting a war for their people and it was clear her mourning had become unhealthy. It had taken over her life and she was refusing to grow past him. He was a symbol for Kalvar, something to become. A great soldier all on his own, fighting against the forces of evil. And it was at that moment where he realized exactly what he wanted to do.

He wasn't content to stay in the caves anymore, hunting and bringing home wild deer and other game just wasn't satisfying. He wanted to help people, put down evil and protect the innocent just like his father. He wanted to travel north to become a member of the Royal Guard, an elite soldier to smite evil wherever it dared show its face. He broke the news to her in the morning and her mother broke.

She begged for him to stay, but when it was obvious nothing she said would sway him she stopped trying. He spent a week preparing, spending more time with his mother than he ever had before. It was a lovely change of pace, but once the time was up and he was ready, he got the first hug he ever had in his life from his Mother. After she had worked through her grief, her trauma, she realized that she was only proud of the man he had become. Too much like his father, but a brave man all of his own. She sent him off, knowing he'd do great things.

Kalvar immediately set off for Castle Town, looking to help as many people he can along the way. Slay dangerous foes, overcome nigh-impossible tasks, all for the sake of ridding the land of evil for once and for all.

Like I said in the shoutbox, Kalvar still has an extra 10 rupees because he's C4. You're free to edit those in.

    That aside, seems great. Accepted.~
