    Equipment & Attire
    In days past, Gustav felt no need to carry weapons on his person, instead being capable of simply flying away from danger with his leaf-copter. In the years of Ganon, however, he now carries two of them.

    Shortbow
    First and foremost, a small shortbow is carried on his back, held in place by a black leather strap that runs over his shoulder and across his chest. It was formed out of various woods traditionally found in the Lost Woods, is blackish-brown in color. It makes for a fair weapon, though Gustav uses it almost exclusively for defensive. Positioned alongside it on his back is a small quiver carrying usually less than two dozen small arrows.

    Strap, Pouch, Rupoor, Hawkeye, & Handkerchief
    The mentioned leather strap has been taken from the hide of a Lon Lon cow and considerably tanned. Though it is called a strap, it is more akin to a belt worn over Gustav's right shoulder, with its small golden ring-buckle nestled squarely at his back. Equipped along its backside, in descending order, are his quiver and bow. At his hip is affixed a small leather pouch, which carries under normal circumstances his 'carrying around rupees,' a forest-green handkerchief, a hawkeye, parchment, a quill, and his beloved rupoor--a device with which he has recently come to love causing mischief. Aside from this strap and its fixings, however, Gustav typically wears no clothes--like many of his race.

    When needs to carry goods from one locale to the next, he either takes up temporary usage of a caravan of some sort, or carries sacks along in mid-flight by dangling them from his arms. In the case of the latter, he ends up needing to take frequent resting stops.

    Deku Leaf
    His Deku Leaf is normally found equipped to his head, its copter blades protruding outwards and dangling when not in use.

    Residence: Castle-Town
    Gustav's shop-shack is but one of many in the new commercial district of the famous Castle-Town. It is, after all, arguably the best place for business even with the mounds of competition surrounding him. Aside from being a basic storefront and place to house his unused wares, however, it is essentially a barren shack without any proper household items. It does provide shelter, however, and there's a rather nice Deku Flower in the back Gustav rests in from time to time.

    In more recent days, the shop is usually under lock-and-key, as Gustav is most often ferrying some form of goods across Hyrule, looking for new products to add to his wondrous and varied library, or finding new customers in distant lands. As such, most of his local customers do their business with him by leaving letters in his mailbox, which he replies to immediately upon returning. Many customers consider it a hassle, but put up with it for the unique stock Gustav keeps and the marvelous prices which result from his shop being a humble one-man, no-need-to-eat operation.

    Pet: Dirk
    For several years now, Gustav has kept a close companion and loyal worker in a small Guay--a species of monstrous bird--named Dirk. While he himself did not tame and train it, a close contract and trusted friend did, and gave it to Gustav for a fair price. It is relatively intelligent, and is capable of delivering letters all across Hyrule. However, being a Guay, it bears the unfortunate likeness of a monster, and has on more than one occasion been nearly struck down as a result.

    Appearance
    Like most fellow Business Scrubs, Gustav takes the form of a Scrub without a neck. That is to say, his head and torso are one in the same. His body is of a slightly ovular shape, narrower and slightly elongated towards the top and bottom. As with most of his race, his body appears to be composed of wood, he has glowing orange eyes, and possesses a tubular snout instead of a mouth. His bark tone is notably lighter than most of his kin.

    His "hair" could be easily the most unusual aspect of his visage. The thick pale-green stems normally sprout straight upwards, giving him a particularly odd and "unprofessional" appearance. To amend this, he has acquired a dark green fedora--several sizes too large to fit a Hylian--to wear atop his bulbous head. The front is typically snapped down, with the backside snapped up. The hat's weight is able to hide the long stringy stems, while simultaneously giving him what he claims to be a professional appearance. The underlying stems are thus usually crumpled beneath it, and now resemble some Hylians' "curvy" hair.

    The hat needs to come off when he needs his Deku Leaf to fly, and as such it gets folded underneath the strap which runs across his chest.

    Personality
    Gustav has, was, and forever will be motivated by one sole drive: acquisition. Call it greed if you wish, or even avarice, but little separates this man from his ever-beloved green rupees. As monstrous as that may sound, he is typically a law-abiding citizen with a code of ethics which (for the most part) supersedes this behavior. The majority of the little green gems in his pocket have been earned legally and (somewhat) fairly. Note the emphasis on majority.

    In most matters, he is intelligent, cunning, open-minded, and curious. He is always reasonable, particularly towards new interpretations of old ideas, and will rarely rebuke someone for their opinion. Though in of himself he is reliable and self-supporting, he is extremely open to working with others--particularly if it means more profit for himself in the end. Though he himself doesn't consider it a drawback, he isn't as familiar with combat as most of the "heroes" in Hyrule. As such, he often still loses his nerves when fighting for his life.

    In the instances he must venture outside of town and risks facing monsters--typically for a risky but profitable venture--he instead relies on hired muscle, outsmarting his opponents with traps of some sort, or most often just running away. When he has been forced to use it, he is decently capable with his bow. That said, he of course prefers firing against foes who aren't aware of his presence, and are so far away that he can run if he misses.

    Most of Gustav's adventures revolve around expanding his trade routes, maintaining his customer base, making profitable deals, meeting new business contacts, and--in his down-time--mapping out exotic locales with ink and parchment. Cartography can help Gustav relieve some of his stress... when those exotic locales aren't filled with monsters, anyway. (It's also a rather lucrative hobby, of course.~)

    Backstory
    Gustav was born to a rather boring, typical family living in the Lost Woods. Being an only child, he was raised in a mostly typical fashion, with a loving mother and a busy but nonetheless caring father. For years, the males of the Grimm family had been initiated into the Business Scrub Association at a young age, and Gus himself was no exception.

    However... He was never able to master the woodworking craft held by his father and grandfather. He lacked both the patience and the insight needed to perfect such a profession. However, as a teenager, his grandfather discovered his amazing ability to sell his products--lackluster as their craftsmanship might have been--with amazing skill, capable of moving items to those who obviously had no use for them. While those who preceded him were excellent with wood, Gustav himself was excellent with words.

    For most of his young adult life, Gustav ended up working as a part of his family. While they crafted bows, furniture, and the like, he himself went out to the streets and sold them quickly and at phenomenal profit margins. He even studied up on woodworking, and more than once took up one of his father's bows to practice archery.

    However, as the years passed, that lifestyle would eventually come to an end. Gustav's grandfather came to pass, and as such the family business began to fall apart somewhat. Nonetheless, they had earned more than enough to live on for the rest of their lives. Gustav's father has taken up woodworking now as only his hobby, while Gustav himself has--more than six years prior to this day--left the Lost Woods he was born in to try his salesman skills on the rest of the world, with all the wares Hyrule had to offer him.

    In accordance with the revamp of the Library, Gustav is seeing slight revision. The only major difference is that his profession no longer has an effect outside of earning rupees.

    Like those before him, Gustav has become a Google Doc. Not much has changed, but his previous iteration has been reduced to a spoiler box.

    After making some deals around Goron Temple--by manipulating Guy, Sienna, and Buzzari--Gustav walks away with a new Transfer Shell, more roops, and a Green Feather kinstone piece. He's in a great position to open a new kind of shop, too.~

    +20r: Quest
    -2r: Kinstone
    -25: Commshell + Transfer Shell
    (7r -> 0r)
    +30r: Profession 6
    +10r: Double Rupoor
    (0r -> 40r)
