Bepu nearly delivered some witty retort, about the Yeti's aversion to the fire-y seeds, but he was cut off. Instead, he was able to only look in awe at the Yeti, hands clasped around his ear-holes, as the beast rose into the air. Sure. A flying yeti. Of course. As if that weren't enough, she--?--seemed possessed by some force, or at least it seemed so. Bepu shivered, watching as she rose into the air; it wasn't the cold, but fear that was causing his entire body to feel as if it were going to fall to pieces at any moment, dozens of serpents knotting horribly in his stomach.

"Why, oh why, did I take this job...." He muttered, though even if he were yelling, he could never have matched that cacophonous sound still resonating throughout the formerly covered room. When it had ascended, and hung there for a moment, he finally let his hands fall to his side, but his ears were quickly assaulted by the sound of Tent's voice. "The worst popsicle I've ever seen? Hell if I know!" Bepu yelled back, jamming his hands into his pockets, grabbing out fistfuls of ember seeds.

Clearly a mistake, as it seemed the giant icicle-yeti still recognized them, which prompted a rather long icicle, not unlike a spear, to be hurled in Bepu's general direction. "Oh Din." He dove forward, sliding in the accumulating snow, hearing a dull thud, followed by the sharp shattering and cracking of ice.

Before Tent could even fully grasp what the hell was happening, the winter monstrosity was hurling down javelins of solid ice. As frozen shards broke apart behind Bepu, Tent didn't need to wonder how much that would've hurt.

Not even getting them time to recuperate, the monster hurled down a second javelin, then a third, all in rapid succession. Tent had little choice but to dodge the second with a quick leap, only to rebound and launch a soaring flaming iron-fisted punch into the side of the third spear, knocking it clean out of the air before it could reach Bepu. The boom of shattering ice echoed among the dim sizzle of evaporating water--all the noise barely managed to hide the sound of straining wood. Glancing behind him, Tent saw a gaping hole in the floor where one of the spears had struck. As if breaking apart the ceiling wasn't enough, the floor beneath him was now shuddering.

"This building won't hold out much longer...! We need to get out of here!"

Trying to buy time, Tent shot forth a glowing bead of fire up towards the floating monstrosity. It exploded with an echoing woosh, sending down shards of ice like snow onto the two intrepid invaders. Still, Tent couldn't help but fear the monster wouldn't be phased by attacks like that.

Rushing away from the monster and towards the window--or what remained of it--Tent glanced towards Bepu. "Would we survive plummeting into a snow drift from this height?"

"Thanks!" Bepu barely managed to gasp out, as he watched Tent knock the spear off-course. Sure, he was able to dodge the first spear, but in this deep snow, without any of his seeds in effect... it was unlikely that he'd have escaped another. But they weren't out of the frying pan yet: Bepu, too, had noticed the floor beginning to give way beneath them. Looking around frantically, he pulled out a normal Pegasus Seed from its pouch, before ingesting it and following Tent's lead. He was right, they had to leave.

"No time to worry about that, now!" Bepu sped up to his comrade, before grasping him tightly and jumping out the window, just as another spear crashed against the floor behind them. They were in free fall now, but Bepu had a plan. Well, at least a semblance of one? Well, at least, a way to get to the ground without dying. Though they fell, it seemed as if they did so through molasses: Bepu's feet were aglow with a spell, presumably Feather Fall, and although he couldn't cast it on Tent, he held onto the deku tightly. Still, with their combined weight, it wasn't long before they reached the ground.

"We should probably run." Bepu said dryly, as he passed Tent a Scorching Step Pegasus Seed while devouring one himself.

With shattered glass and splintered wood caught in his tunic, Tent couldn't help but shudder as he saw the icy ground so far below. His gauntlets gripped desperately onto Bepu, realizing not a second too late that the Korok was somehow floating at low speed--a spell, he guessed? No time to worry about it.

Tent rolled into the snowdrift, collapsing beneath Bepu. He pushed the smaller Korok to his feet before rising himself, using a quick flare of his gauntlets to melt the snow near them, revealing a damp rocky terrain underneath. Glancing back towards the mansion, he beheld the entire floor crumbling, and, "Th-that monstrosity is still coming at us! How does it even fly like that?!"

Tent gave a panicked but solemn nod towards Bepu, recognizing and taking the seed he offered. "Did Yetu know about this?! That does not seem like an ideal girlfriend!" Yetu seemed trustworthy, but how could he make such an impossible mistake?

As Bepu sped off, Tent followed right behind him--eyes wide as his legs moved at what felt like insane speed, leaving a blazing trail of sizzling melted snow behind him. He dared not look back, but could hear the telltale echo of icicle-spears crashing apart on the rocky path left in their wake. The monster was still chasing them--Tent could only hope they could outpace that flying nightmare.

"Maybe it's just a bad time of month for her? Maybe her flight's powered by bitterness and resentment at all that is holy?" Bepu hollered back. No time to be making joked, of course, but the world seems quite funny when being chased by a giant icicle. Or at least avant garde. In any case, Bepu figured that there was no accounting for others' taste in women. But now was not the time to be pondering the finer points in life: now was reserved specifically for getting he, and Tent's, wooden asses as far away from that thing as possible. Fighting it be damned.

Ah, but then his customer wouldn't be a satisfied one, now would he. Fuck.

"Any idea how we can stop this thing, without killing Yetu's would-be girlfriend?" He pace slowing again. He tossed another Ember Pegasus Seed Tent's way, again ingesting one himself. If they could get a sizable lead, maybe they could get to Yetu in time to warn him...

Tent had never to his knowledge met a female Yeti during her time of the month, but he truly pitied the entire Yeti race if they all turned into soaring ice-castles of hatred and destruction. Tent desperately snatched the second Ember Pegasus Seed and shoved it down his gullet, hoping beyond hope to put some distance between the two of them and that nightmare.

His words were barely able to come out between pants of breath. Even with the seed, keeping this pace was hardly easy. "Hell if I know how to stop it!" Pant, "The only attack I have that can reach that high--" gasp "--barely seemed to do anything!" Pant, "We would have to get it down here," gasp, "somehow."

"Our best bet is Yetu." Tent glanced behind him fearfully, all while his fists pumped and his legs scurried. "Make sure he's safe. Maybe he can help." It was a longshot, but if this truly was some freaky part of Yeti physiology, the man might be able to help them out somehow. Either that, or this was an elaborate ruse to get both of them killed. Either way, Yetu was the only person Tent wanted to see right now.

Tent's fatigue hadn't gone unnoticed: Bepu was beginning to tire out himself. He'd trained rigorously, so that his stamina might be able to withstand the repeated use of Pegasus Seeds, but he'd already used it several times earlier in the day. His own legs felt like they were on fire, and the biting cold wasn't helping either, its bitter fangs sapping away heat and energy. Steam billowed out from his mouth hole as his lungs compressed with strain; he maybe had one or two more uses of the seeds, and that would be it for the day, maybe for even several. Still, the two had managed to put a decent lead between themselves and the eldritch icicle. "You're right. He might know something, and at the very least, we should probably make sure he gets out with us." Bepu nodded in agreement.

Well, time to find Yetu, then. He began jogging at a brisk pace towards where they last saw the Yeti, though distantly approaching crashes and explosions certainly spurred him to keep moving a bit more quickly.

The two sped through the snow, rounding the mansion, and towards the entrance. All the while, icicle spears crashed into the ground behind them. Just before rounding the last corner, Tent was forced to leap up with a dramatic twisting fist, smashing through one of the spears with a flaming punch. The ice dramatically broke apart with the shattering of ice and the splash of cool water. A scream of pain echoed out of Tent's gullet, sending him stumbling back--frantically stumbling onto his feet before scurrying after Bepu. All the while, he shook his right hand, hissing in pain. Even through a thick layer of steel and flame, that hurt like hell!

Moving his eyes off his hand and to the path ahead, Tent abruptly skidded to a halt behind Bepu. Yetu was standing before them, looking up at the nightmarish monster of ice with an utterly awestruck look in his eyes. He was speechless, gawking at her.

Tent whirled around to face the monster, his one good hand aflame with the righteous will to live. With all their flaming sprinting, they had barely put an inch between themselves and the monster. It seemed there was only one way to end this. At least now Tent and Bepu had a Yeti alongside them. Tent might have regretted dragging Yetu into this battle--if it wasn't all his fault to begin with. As the monster broke through the mansion, reducing another corner of it to shrapnel, Tent turned towards Yetu with a raised voice and a brazen tone. "There's your woman! Now what?"

Yetu shook his head, trying to dispel the sheer wonder--and fear--to get his body under his command once again. "This is not how she was described to me!" He yelled out, scooping up both Tent and Bepu in an arm. It was clear to him that the two had strained themselves to arrive where they were. With that, he began to run at a dead sprint towards the door of the mansion. "For now? We run! We think about other things, when we get out of this deathtrap!" Yetu continued, bounding towards the door. It shattered into splinters as his foot kicked it open, and he barreled through the opening. At least while they were out front, they'd have the room to dodge any incoming icicles, and wouldn't have to worry about falling debris. Yetu skid to a halt in the snow, setting both Tent and Bepu to the ground.

Bepu looked up at the yeti beside him. Well, at least his customer hadn't ditched him, and judging by the determination on his face, he was set to see this through, one way or the other. Bepu couldn't quite decide whether or not he liked this man: like the customer who takes way too long to order, but tips generously, it presented quite the dichotomy. Either way, fighting the giant, floating icicle--never thought he'd say that--might be a bit easier with Yetu around. A bit. Bepu looked to Tent then, and shrugged, not really sure what to say, in the odd predicament they had found themselves in. Speed dating at its finest.

(Tend and Bepu, intrepid adventurers. The sad part is that typo is a better name than a portable shelter of animal skins.)

Tent was almost disappointed Yetu did not swoon at the sight of that monster. It certainly would have made things a bit... easier. Alas, such did not seem to be in Din's great plan, or so Tent thought. Everyone of course knows love is in the realm of Nayru, not Din, but Tent was too distracted by imminent death to realize the err of his thoughts. Should he survive long enough to lay awake in bed, he will reflect on this thought process and cringe.

Tent didn't have time to thank Yetu, instead catching his breath enough to climb onto the beast's shoulder and aim a spell at their pursuer. With a word and a gesture of his hands, Bepu focused intently. Just as the crazy bitch shattered through the castle wall behind them, Tent launched a Din's Burst, exploding right in her face--or at least what he assumed to be her face. It was difficult to tell if she was even a living creature or some kind of ice mechanism. Nonetheless, she visibly flinched and let out a tiny squeal. Even a blast of fire wasn't enough to melt much of that ice. It seemed the only way to break through it was to use brute force.

"Bepu, Yetu, look for a cannon! I know I saw one somewhere in this mansion." His eyes whirled around their surroundings, all as Yetu bounced and charged through decaying halls filled with snow. "If a cannon can't hurt her, nothing could!"

(Shhhhh. You know I almost never spellcheck or proofread. Fiiiixed :tpr: )

A cannon was a good idea, and Tent was right. They'd made it back into that interior courtyard, near the very front end of the mansion. It seemed that the trapdoor had reset itself, and now the ground was closed up once again: a fact for which he was very, very thankful. But Bepu's eyes searched around as their fearsome opponent burst into the courtyard, though she did little damage to the stone walls. Last he recalled, it had been up atop one of those walls.... There! To the right, he saw, what he hoped, was the dull gray of worked iron. "Yetu, can you toss me up there!"

    "I can, but--"

"I've got the landing, just do it!" Bepu screamed out as the Yeti scooped him up once more, before hurling him straight up at the portion of the wall he'd indicated. Thankfully the Yeti had scaled back his strength, and rather than send Bepu sailing off into the distance, the Korok seemed to be well on his way to coming back down. His descent was fairly quick, but with a bit of concentration, his speed slowed, his Feather Fall spell coming into effect. Fortunate for Bepu, the frozen yeti was concentrating her efforts back down on the ground, at Tent and Yetu. With a grunt he landed, and with no time to waste, he immediately made his way over to the cannon.

Tent watched with wide eyes as Bepu's entire body was hurled like a baseball. He honestly put the chance of that working at 50-50, if Bepu even survived, until he remembered the lad had that handy spell. That was all the more reason for him to be tossed and not Tent himself.

Instead, Tent found himself squaring off the the monstrosity in the courtyard. Adjacent Yetu, he worded hastily, "Hold it steady until Bepu has a clear shot. I don't think even you can break this thing, Yetu. It barely even flinched from a fiery blast."

Yetu grunted, eyes intent on the monster, "I will do what I can."

Tent thought momentarily of having the beast of a man throw his small armored body at the icy monster, but... he wasn't so lucky as to know Feather Fall. It would be their last resort, if the cannon failed. Unable to make any further plans, Tent glared at the monster as it began launching not one, not two, but a rapid success of icicle spears down at the two.

Yetu dodged as fast as he could, but was forced to punch and swat several out of the air. Tent ducked, weaved, and finally dove behind cover of a giant stone pillar in the courtyard. From there he found enough time to launch up a tiny orange bead--exploding in the bitch's face with the hiss of sublimating ice. He glanced towards Yetu, only to see a bleeding gash across the man's shoulder.

"Damnit," Tent hissed, trying to prepare another blast of fire. He whispered under his breath, "Come on, Bepu, it's all up to you now... Aim true."

Bepu was, currently, engaged with the firing mechanism of the canon. He'd already dragged a cannonball over, and had loaded it into the barrel of the siege weapon. And yet, despite yanking on the pull cord near the back of the device, it refused to fire. Think, dammit! What could be wrong... Bepu shut his eyes tight, trying to block out the sounds of the battle below for even just a moment of clarity. This place was old, but despite that, the cannon still seemed to be in good condition. He hadn't noticed anything off about it, aside from its bone chillingly cold surface, but with the way that cannons worked, that shouldn't be a problem... A snowflake landed on his face. That was it, the snow, it had to be. It was likely that the inside of the cannon was far, far too wet and frozen to be fired. Wasting now time, he grabbed as many Ember Seeds as he could, several simply falling to the ground in his haste. He climbed atop the cannon, shimmying towards the opening of the barrel. Jamming the seeds into the cannon, he tossed one final one in with as much strength as he could muster from his position. Fire flared out, singing his hair leaves ever so slightly, before the cannon expelled a great gout of steam. He took a second to look down at Tent and Yetu: both were still up and standing, though the Yeti appeared to be bleeding. No time to waste.

Moving back towards the other end of the cannon, he jumped down, pushing his weight against the heavy metal to adjust its positioning. It was aimed directly at the giant frozen icicle now, and bracing himself from the inevitable quake, he threw his body weight into the pull cord. An explosion sounded, deafening his hearing, and forcing the Korok to all forces in shell shock. Had he hit?

With the fury matched only by Yetu's scorned heart, the cannonball tore through the winter air with a boom. The monster only had a moment to look in the direction of the cannon, only a split-second before a thunderous shattering noise tore through the air. Ice shards fell around the blast like a wreath of snow, as she was knocked out of the air and into the snow beneath.

Wasting not a single moment, Yetu roared into the monster with rageful pounding punches that Tent swore could have busted through steel, let alone ice. With punch after pounding punch, shards upon shards of ice fell off, until Yetu found himself standing over a body--breathing hard, his hulking form bristling with intensity.

The mass of animated ice had fallen lifelessly, revealing only a dainty, slumbering form of a Yeti woman in a bed of icicles. Motionless with closed eyes and small lips, she seemed the epitome of innocence--frail and helpless. Tent didn't know why this woman was inside, but for whatever reason Yetu had stopped. He did not wish to ask a ten-foot-tall, adrenaline-pumping ape-beast of a man why he had stopped crushing--but he felt he knew why.

Saying nothing at first, Tent reached in towards the woman with a gentle hand, feeling at her neck. "She... still has a pulse."

Yetu nodded calmly, before plucking the woman up into her arms. He seemed at a loss for words, but the expression on his face was one of relief.

Bepu was breathing heavily, his heart pounding from the explosion, but he couldn't help but laugh a little. It was over. They'd won. He'd successfully made his delivery, and Tent, himself, and Yetu had all managed to come out of it alive. And, from the looks of things, Yetu managed to get the girl in the end. Aside from the fact that she was still unconscious, and that the mansion was practically obliterated, everything had gone perfectly. Mission accomplished.

With that, he hopped back down to where his comrades were, floating through the air gently. "Well, Yetu, I can't imagine that this is how you intended to meet her, but it seems you've got your date." Bepu chuckled. Despite the ropes he and Tent had been put through, he decided that he still liked the Yeti, and was quite glad to see him have a happy ending. "But, if that's all, I think Tent and I will probably be leaving soon here."

"Wait, before you go, I'd like to thank you guys again, and at least give you some parting gifts!" Yetu halted their exit. Well, Bepu couldn't argue against that: afterall, they had gone above and beyond what was required of a mere sandwich delivery man, and a... flaming Deku? Bepu made a mental note to ask Tent what his actual occupation was. Either way, the two were led to where Yetu kept his belongings, and promptly rewarded.

(OOC: Bepu, in the end, takes a Seed Shooter that Yetu found somewhere throughout the Mansion. That consumes the usual 40 Roop. With his Crafting Rupees (4 Roop) he will instead choose to trade 2 roop each for seeds, gaining two Chill Seeds. This brings his total gains to: a Seed Shooter, 2 Chill Seeds , and 10 Rupees.

Guy chooses to spend his 40 Roop, in addition to 15 of Tent's, to level his profession level to 5 and 6. Tent gains 30 Rupees from his new Level 6 Profession of Pyromancy Tutor. Tent presumably spends the 55 Roop on learning more about Pyromancy, after the events of this dungeon. )
