'Twas quite a sight to see. From across the frigid plains of the Great Ice Field, a dozen white wolfos came to his call. The roaring laughter of a particular Moblin--clad in armor both red and white--beckoned the loyal beasts to his magical sled. Tonight was the night.

The wolfos, snarling and wild, ordered themselves before the moblin's sled, raring to go. A gigantic sack of toys and tools plopped into the vehicle like a two-ton weight. The only thing heavier, perhaps, was the gigantic and obese Holiday Moblin himself, as he crawled onto the driver's seat. A grin of utter madness across his furry, unsavory face.

Wasting no time, the moblin grabbed the reigns and gave them a heavy snap. Across the whole of the Subrosian Glacier, the booming voice rang out in a bellowing tone, "ON DONNER, ON DASHER, ON PRANCER AND VIXEN! HO! HO!! HO!!!"

Soon, magical glitter of rupees and treasures would blanket all the land. Gifts dropped from the heavens into the grateful hands of all good little boys and girls across the land. 'Boys' and 'girls' might be ambiguous terms. Either the moblin's aim was terrible, or he couldn't tell tell the difference between Kokiri and Octoroks...

Throughout the night, he relentlessly roared out in ferocious generosity, "IT'S A SECRET TO EVERYBODY!! HO HO HO!!!"

    ...

Through Valentine's Day (Febuary 14th, 2017), you may post once in this thread. In doing so, claim one of the following gifts for one of your characters:
    • A Snowball Glove for starting snowball fights.
    • A Snowshoe Ring, perfect for festivities in the cold.
    • The Sobriety spell, helpful for curing your hangover after you almost forgot an important date.
    • Some White Hide, making for a cozy blanket that could be crafted into a cozy jacket.
    • A Superpusher, the odd sort of trinket an adventurer would find stuffed in his stocking.
    • The Cane of Pacci, a favorite for playing tricks.
    • A pair of Cowardly Socks.
    • A Megamouth Mask, useful for shouting almost as loud as the boisterous Holiday Moblin himself.
    • A care package including a Drift Quill and False Quill to write back home; the Spark spell to keep warm; and the Tidy Pouch to stay clean.
    • A Pictograph Box to store treasured memories.
    • Three Kinstone Pieces, which are sure to bring a surprise.
    • A mere 10 rupees, for those picky few who never know what they want.

The air thick with ice, and with frost-bitten Grudd,
Onward went Griskin, into the dark,
He staggered across, and skidded on snow-infused mud,
When from on above, he heard a great lark!

And following the lark went a loud bellow
And following the bellow a string of monstrous laughter,
With something like sparkles falling from strange, sky-fellow,
Griskin was sure to remember that cackle e'en years after:

For down from the heavens, like a discarded knick-knack,
Fell a something quite quickly - quite dangerously,
Was that laughter deluded, was it good will, or the lack?
Well, who could have known, might as well have been debris,

Since what landed only feet from his head,
Except a mysterious box all pleasantly strange,
In packaging all tied up and bright red,
And for a moment the Moblin thought he was deranged,

Because when he approached the thing, it didn't twitch or explode
And even Grudd didn't attempt its usual approach like a fox,
So Griskin took the wrapping, ripped, and exposed
A new, useful tool! It was... a Pictograph Box?!

Julius will be taking the Kinstone pieces.

As was typical with Julius now, he did his Weaponsmithing for the Guard, and all its subsidies, during the frost-bitten day-- or, rather, what would have been a frost-bitten day, had he not been wearing his usual raiment. Tinkering with the tools at his disposal was no easy task-- there were many blades, some dull, others not, and an anvil that, through the day, had had its fair share of steel pummeled upon its face-- he was closing shop, now. The tools were aligned so as to determine when they'd be useful-- which came first, second, and so on and so forth.

Then, he'd heard it again. Could it be..?

Yes, it was. The Holiday Moblin had come back around for a fifth time. There was no shortage of random gift drops from the sky-- all with an intended recipient, no doubt. As far as he could tell, he'd really not minded the Holiday Moblin... most times. Sure, there might have been only a couple times where you'd cursed his name under your breath, but what was the worst that could have happened?

Still, watching this spectacular series of events unfold before him brought him to a smile. He watched with a sense of wonder at what he'd no doubt be getting this year.

A package thumped onto the floor below. It was a small package, relative to his size, at least. He opened it up, revealing a... Violet Crown Kinstone piece, a Green Crown Kinstone piece, and a Red Rupee Kinstone piece? He'd wondered where he'd gotten these from... Maybe they were somehow vaguely related to the Holiday Moblin?

Well, whatever. He'd suppose that if he somehow found a person to fuse with, maybe he'd find out how it all rolled together.

Judith will claim three kinstone pieces, as well (I'll RP it later, once I know the shapes and colours).

Judith Vilcaron had never quite known what to make of the Holiday Moblin. There were many powerful entities in Hyrule that defied explanation, but few were as baffling as the portly, larger-than-life Moblin that soared through the skies during the colder months, delivering packages seemingly at random. Whether his intentions were charitable or nefarious, none could say.

Tonight, however, Judith had been inclined to suggest the latter after narrowly dodging a carefully wrapped box of enormous proportions, which had descended from the sky at a truly alarming velocity. Warned only by the festive Moblin's signature bellowing, the priestess managed to hurl herself to the side just in the nick of time. As she picked herself up, she craned her head just enough to see that the package was addressed to her, prompting a scowl.

Yet, once she had recovered from the shock of almost being crushed and approached the box, gingerly tearing it open to behold the unexpected gift within, her grumbling and her frown were replaced by an astonished look of delighted wonder, as if the Holiday Moblin's infectious cheer had at last spread to her.

    "K-Kinstones?"

The mystical rocks known as Kinstones had recently attracted the attention of many of the Cult of Nayru's senior Sisters, and it was said that even the Archcanoness herself professed to have an interest in them. According to them, Kinstones were virtually never found intact, but if reassembled, a boon would be bestowed upon the owner.

To think the Holiday Moblin would present her with not one, but THREE... It was amazing, to say the least.

What Judith found most remarkable, though, was that the trio of Kinstones were all a regal blue, the colour commonly associated with Nayru. It had to be a sign, but of what, she wondered as she examined each piece individually, turning them about in her hands. She would not have pegged the Holiday Moblin as an agent of the Goddesses- if that were the case, why did he appear in the guise of the Hylians' ancestral enemy, and why would he give a faithful follower the fright of her life? Another mystery for another day.

Upon closer inspection, it quickly became apparent that two of the Kinstones were virtually identical in design, and Judith wasted no time in combining them, watching in awe as they fused together without the aid of any adhesive substance. Now whole once more, the Kinstone took on the shape of a crown... A symbol of Nayru's everlasting majesty, she reckoned. She could not feel any magic emanating from the completed Kinstone, but that didn't mean it wasn't there! Further study was required.

The cancellation of her evening walk would be a small price to pay for the chance to digest new knowledge, and her feet would welcome the respite from the cold, frost-covered earth. She simply had to learn more about her Kinstones... especially the third, which currently resembled half a clover, its twin still missing.

Gathering up the stones in her right hand, Judith held them against her breast, while tracing the Triforce of Wisdom with her left.

"Mother Nayru, Thy generosity is unmatched. I humbly accept Thy blessing, and vow to repay it with deeds of Wisdom and Affection. I am Your servant in all things." She fell silent in reverent prayer for a moment. Then, before spinning on her heel and returning to her desk, she looked up at the sky one last time, her features softening into a smile.

"And... Thank you as well, Holiday Moblin. May Nayru watch over you this frigid eve, as you carry out your duties."

(Judith collects the Blue Clover piece and fuses the Blue Crown pieces.)

    It probably wasn't intentional. Probably.
Whatever the intention, Yuku was pissed. Very pissed. She had been just straight-up walking, like any normal person, and then someone had seen fit to throw something at her head. What an asshole move.
She slowly picked herself up, removing her glasses to scrub at the snow and dirt that now coated the lenses. When she was satisfied that she'd actually be able to see out of the damn things, she slid them back onto her nose and hooked the arms over her ear fins, blinking a few times to clear the snow out of her eyes. She found her Tadzora tank where it had flown out of her arms when she'd fallen- thankfully, the snow had cushioned the landing and it hadn't broken. That would have been more than just an inconvenience.
Satisfied that she had her belongings back in order, she turned around to see exactly what had hit her- it was way too hard to be a snowball. Instead, she found what appeared to be a white pouch. Interesting. Picking it up, she peered inside it. Inside, she found two rather pretty quills, a small reddish-yellow stone, and a rolled-up parchment. Curious, she unrolled the parchment.
    "To: YUKU
    From: THE HOLIDAY MOBLIN"

Yuku blinked. What?! She examined the contents of the pouch again, then removed her hand in surprise.
She had been sure that hand was dirty when she had stuck it in the bag. Her eyes lit up. Okay, she was slightly less pissed off now. She withdrew the two quills. One was glowing slightly at the tip, as if already bearing ink; the other had a jet-black nib. She tried writing with both on her arm; the first produced a glowing scribble, the second's scribble appeared entirely normal. Grinning and delighted, she put the quills back and withdrew the stone, only to have it crumble into dust in her hand. Before she could even be surprised, her fingertip suddenly burst into flame. She stared at it for a second. She'd seen this used before- the Spark spell? She stared at the flame for a little longer before pinching her fingertip to put it out. Plenty of time to learn how to use that properly later.
She looked up, but there was no sign of a moblin anywhere.

She had never been so glad to receive a concussion in her life.

(Yuku gained the Care Package containing the Drift Quill, False Quill, Spark Spell and Tidy Pouch)

Ni'Ran will nab three Kinstone Pieces, too. I'm with Darth and Eev- I'll go into character when the shapes and colours are revealed.

The distinct roaring of a pack of Wolfos caused the Rito's ears to perk, as well as his Kargorok companion to give a screech of her own. "Easy, Alice," he muttered, cracking one eye open and nudging one foot at her so he wouldn't have to get up. He'd just gotten comfortable on his branch. "It's just the Holiday Moblin. Keep your head down, lest you get hit by something. His aim kinda sucks worse than mine." She turned to him, feathers ruffled, giving him a pointed glare as he lowered his head to tuck his chin against his chest again to resume his slumber. Every year at the start of winter, right on cue. He'd grown accustomed to it.

He'd just dozed off again when the great white beast must have come over for a return trip.

    "IT'S A SECRET TO EVERYBODY!"

    SMACK!
    CLATTER!

    "VALOO'S HOOKED TAIL!"

    CRASH!

For a few seconds, Ni'Ran could only lay there below the night's tree, dazed, wondering what happened, and grateful that he'd fallen onto the hip that didn't have his sword hanging from it. In front of him lay the remnants of a small wooden box, which would explain the throbbing pain in his head if it had impacted him there. Alice fluttered down from her own spot on the branch, cawing softly at him as if to ask if he were alright, but was quickly distracted by something smooth and shiny. "I am officially too old for the Holiday Moblin," Ni'Ran muttered, jolting up when he saw Alice pecking at the smooth, metallic shards among the wreckage of the box.

"Hey! Beak off." He gently pushed her aside, seeing what was on the ground. There were three green-coloured shards, each clearly part of a disc of some sort. One was emblazoned with half of a clover, but the other two were more interesting. "Huh..." he muttered, looking at the perfect match they seemed to be to each other, down to the lines of the little feather etched into them. "Must have broken when they fell," he thought. "Well... never too old for Kinstones, I guess."

Ni'Ran claims the Green Clover Kinstone Piece and fuses the Green Feather Kinstone Pieces.

Callad awoke in his room at the inn, in a village whose name he did not know. He'd gone to bed early, because the day's events had been trying to him, but he was awakened by a strange, mad beast howling in Hyrulean. He dressed in his boots, trousers, tunic, and cloak, and exited the inn, holding aloft a lantern in the frozen street. Snow continued softly falling, and the air was thick and silent. He got off the porch, walking further down the street.

"Hello? Who's there? Griskin if that's you I'll have your leg!"

He nearly slipped on the ice, then he sensed a small something flying towards him. He ducked, and it sailed over his head and into a nearby snowbank, but he lost his footing, slipped, dropped the lantern, and fell on his back just as he heard the shout again.

"HO HO HOOOO! IT'S A SECRET TO EVERYBODY!" came the call out of nowhere, almost like a Cannon Shout. The disgruntled Hylian knight could have sworn he saw, at that very moment, a sleigh, ridden by a tall, fat, and ugly Moblin, with white fur arranged in what could be approximated as a beard. It was difficult to make out the colors on its clothing. Wolfos pulled the sleigh across the sky by means he could not see, and a second or two later, the mad vision was gone.

The knight blinked, startled out of his grumbly mood, before shaking his head, muttering, "I must've hit my head harder than I thought."

Callad looked to the snowbank, however, and saw that it had been disturbed. A box-shaped hole marred the snow. Curious, he made his way over, gathering up the lantern and setting it beside the snowback. Opening the box, Callad saw a ring inside, with an icy blue gem. There was a design etched into it that he couldn't quite make out, but there was a piece of parchment inside the box that read, in a painfully illegible scrawl, "To: Sir Callad, From: The Holiday Moblin."

Callad blinked again, put on the ring, and got up to go back to bed. He noticed, however, that he had no trouble on the ice this time around.

    (Callad gains the Snowshoe Ring)

Areyal was just about to slip inside the tavern to rest her weary feet when all of a sudden... She heard him. The Holiday Moblin. She heard that loud roar across the night sky, "ON DONNER, ON DASHER, ON PRANCER AND VIXEN! HO! HO!! HO!!!" Immediately, and with a giddy glee, she ran out into the streets. Her arms wide with anticipation.

Last time the Holiday Moblin had appeared to her, she had learned to cast Fire! Well, that didn't last very long, as she immediately twisted the spell with some strange... kinda unsettling being into some frost magic instead! A cold fire bolt was so much more her thing. The addition of a holy spell was incredibly awesome as well! She couldn't wait until she learned what the Holiday Moblin had brought her this year!

She could see them flying overhead, and stared with a jealous anticipation at the other gifts that had fallen already. As tempted as she was to go run and grab one, she waited patiently. She'd get something sooner or later.

In fact, as the sled flew over head, something started to fall. It was incredibly small, and so hard to see against the night sky, but thankfully still visible. Within no time, it dropped down harmlessly into the snow right beside her.

An even wider smile spreading across Areyal's face, she quickly kneeled down and started to dig. With a little effort, she found it. Her eyes widened the moment she picked up her gift, an absolutely beautiful ring. It must be worth a fortune! She couldn't ask for a more amazing gift!

Immediately, she slipped the ring onto her finger. A bright silver band, with a beautiful ice-like gem embedded into it. It was absolutely perfect. From taking just a few steps, she immediately learned that it was also a Snowshoe Ring. She wasn't slipping on the snow anymore! What a wonderful time to be alive!

Running inside the Tavern, the excited Zora immediately began to show off her new ring. If only the Holiday Moblin came around for the other holidays too. Oh, if only.

(Areyal gains a Snowshoe Ring, befitting an ice mage like herself.)

Sayomi rushed down the stairs with care,
Graceful as a hippo, but fast as a hare.

For the Holiday Moblin gives to all the good children, rich and poor,
If only he didn't leave coal on the floor.

Among the gifts, she found a yellow stick,
In the morning light, looked like a Pik-Pik.

With a swing and flick, the tree did a flip,
Maybe the Moblin should've left a tip.

For such a commotion, the neighbors did wake,
Giving Sayomi a cane of Pacci, was a mistake.

I'm claiming three Kinstone Pieces for Kieran O'Halley. If I have the time (and access) I'll try to come up with something clever. (My birthday is the cut-off date? I guess there's no better way to celebrate it early than by... posting after three years to get a gift from the Early-Winter-Holiday Moblin?)

When Ni'Ran pops the two Green Feather pieces together, they seem to pop like a firecracker! From the explosion, a single Ember Seed and a Shock Gem pop up into the air, which Ni'Ran manages to deftly catch on the way down. Hmm, perhaps he knows someone who can put these to use?

When Judith fuses the two Blue Crown pieces, her hands pull apart to find a Glacier Rod in one hand and a Like-Like Ring in the other! Wowee-wow, what a haul!
