Down a dusty path off the main street through town, there is delegated a few small shops of various natures. A grocery, a carpenter, a perfume store... One sign in particular, for whatever reason, catches your eye. 'Curious Sundries,' it reads in elegant red paint, hanging above a curtain that seems to invite you inside all on its own.

Behind the counter is a portly woman in her 40s or 50s. Gerudo? No, she's just particularly tan. A mild look of interest dances across world-weary features, "Haven't seen you before... Let me know if I can help you with anything, ya'hear?" As soon as the warmth in her eyes came, it left again, and she continued reading her novel.

'Sundries' is an accurate term... wardrobes filled garments, books lined with bookshelves, and a few miscellaneous knick-knacks one could pick up for cheap. Should you choose to look through it all, you might find the following items of interest:
To purchase any of the listed items, simply make an in-character post in this thread and deduct your rupees accordingly. In your post, you are free to control the shopkeeper within reason.

You can also sell one or more treasures to the Curiosity Shop for precisely 50% of the cost you originally paid for it. (If necessary, round up to the nearest whole rupee.) You cannot sell any treasure that is a Trait, is Major, has been Twisted, or was gained for 0 rupees.

On June 1st, the Hylian lady running this little shop will close up shop.

His acquaintance had failed to show. Taking a look around the back alley crossroads he had designated as their meeting point, Julius had found a rather intriguing store, just full of curiosities.

He spent a while browsing the various shelves around the store. A Purple Tunic, complete with navy blue scale mail underneath, was available-- but how often had Julius found electricity a legitimate danger in his travels? Perhaps once, was how often.

There was also a Goron Tunic available, but Julius already had a layer of Dodongo Hide within his raiment, making any further purchase of Goron Tunics moot.

There was also a scroll detailing some song that was supposed to increase bravery, but he lacked any kind of magical or musical aptitude for such a thing. Right next to it, there was a jar of what he truly doubted was "Skulltula Paste".

Finally, he came to two tomes-- one bearing knowledge of all kinds of seeds and potion brewing, while the other one advised you on all kinds of ores, skins, and furs, and what to do with them. It was all about turning a dime on any excavations or hunts, and what hides of relatively common monsters could do, and typically went for, on the markets... Mind, it was just a tad outdated, but he decided it would do.

"I'll be taking this," Julius said to the shopkeeper, handing her an appropriate amount of money. He kept the tome within his hands, intent to read it while waiting for whomever he had arranged a meeting with.

A wooden thumb ran over the navy-blue scales of one particular set of mail, and all he did was simply sigh. The craftsmanship was no better than he expected... Why was it that the greatest smiths he'd known were a corrupt guard and a sociopathic mass-murderer?

Gustav had been browsing all day through various shops--evaluating potential competition, and seeking any possible new business contacts or wares to sell. After a brief investigation of this place, he was sure he had nothing to fear from it, nor not even a single thing to gain. 'Twas not a waste of time, he supposed. It was better to know than know not.

Just as he headed for the exit, a bookcase caught the glow of his eye. He scanned the titles quickly, recognizing most of them. The newer ones, in his professional opinion, were all rubbish... His eyes widened suddenly at not one, but two copies of the legendary tome A Gentlemogma's Guide to Treasure-Hunting! As he hastily but carefully flipped through the pages, he discovered one was even first edition! At this price, there was no question that hylian hag even knew of their rarity...

If he bought only these two books, he thought, it might seem suspicious, and she might jack up the price. He wouldn't put it past her, anyway. Grabbing one of the tasteless new books, he slipped it into his hands alone the first two.

Subduing his excitement, Gustav brought both books to her, standing on his toes to reach them to the counter-top. Feigning disinterest, he sighed, "These three... I'm in a hurry, so lets skip the haggling."

Internally, he couldn't help but snicker. Although he would treasure the first edition himself for quite a while to come, he would find a customer for the other copies in less than a week--to, of all people, Sienna and Guy Denzrita.

Gustav and Sienna are both getting a copy of the aforementioned book, and the Nose for Treasure it represents. Guy was swindled into buying into the 'rubbish book' representing Seed Expertise, and, using his new-found expertise, quickly acquired a Seed Shooter.
