In the dark alley of a city you’ve seen once before, what seems to be a red-eyed Poe sits quietly behind a wooden countertop. You feel at once as though his eyes are following you, yet simultaneously avoiding you. Adjacent to the Poe rests a sign, reading, "Curiosity Shop - Open until 31." Thirty-one? When is thirty-one? There are three items laid across the counter, each of which seems to be sealed in a strange, magical bubble. In front of each item lays a small note, with a name and a price scribbled in scarlet ink:You can surmise that absorbing the crystal teaches you the spell known as Fire, consuming the bean enables you to use Goron Punch, and reading the tome teaches you how to magically summon a Floormaster. The Tornado Rod... just appears to be some kind of magical staff. In any case, all of these items seem like strangely good deals. Should you desire to purchase one of them, it seems it would be easy enough to do so...

"Leave your rupees, take any item you want," the Poe suddenly speaks, grinning with inhuman fangs. You get the strange feeling that he--or she?--might have more of these items in stock, but it's difficult to be sure.

(To purchase any of these items, simply make an in-character post in this thread and deduct your rupees accordingly. This particular Curiosity Shop will close its metaphorical doors at the end of the month.)

Navina smiled, cupping her chin in her hand. She definitely had enough rupees to buy two cheaper items, or the item she really wanted. She sighed, cupping her way less than full coin purse. Why was the guard so pathetic at completing tasks quickly? It's not like she got paid a great steady salary..

"That one, of course," she said, pointing to the Tome before exchanging the rupees. She felt no remorse about paying for it. Poes could be nice enough creatures. Besides, the ones who were Hylian or Deku in a past life usually got permits before setting up these sorts of shops.

"No?! Bullshit!" Wiki kicked the cement. She looked back up at the Poe, she could have sworn that piece of shit's grin had definitely gotten wider. She really wanted that shit, came looking for this place from a flier she had found - and Wiki hardly ever followed fliers. She sighed, looking down at a crudely drawn "sold out" sign, as if the Poe had put it there especially for her.

Wiki quickly glanced up at the Poe, shit, maybe he had. Honestly, she wouldn't have been surprised if there were Poes lurking around that were totally out to kill her. She had murdered enough people for stupid reasons. Shit, if Wiki had gotten killed for some of the really stupid things she had killed people for, she'd come back with a vengeance.

"Fine, fine," Wiki said, glancing at the other wares. She needed a paper weight, throwing down her roops rupees and grabbing the Crystal on the table.

(( :kermit: I thought long and hard about which one Wiki would want the most and then made sure Navina bought it.
    -35 roops Navina
-30 roops Wiki because I'm adding the No Instrument Required augment ))

Idris eyed the crystal on the table.

A new spell was always tempting, certainly one like this. Though it was not by far as powerful as his Inferno, it did have a certain... subtlety, unlike most of his magic. The Poe, however, was slightly suspicious. Since when did they do anything else than harrass travellers?

Still, the temptation was too big. Idris dug out the needed amount of rupees and placed them on the table, gingerly picking up the crystal. The surge of power he felt brought a smile to his lips. New magic was always exhilirating.

((Like Saria, I'm just gonna go ahead and add the augment, lemme know if that's okay :tpr: also -30 rupees for Idris, for fire and the no-instrument augment.))

Guy, the scrub-made-of-stone, leered uneasily at the Poe. He was just passing through, but this weirdo just decided to glare at him for no particular reason. He found himself locked in a strange staring contest with the entity, before it abruptly spoke and almost made Guy jump.

"Any item I want, huh?" Guy repeated the words, a curious wisp in his voice. The last time he paid a stranger for anything remotely suspicious, he got turned into a freakish rock monster. You'd think he would have learned his lesson. Still... he couldn't help but be tempted by what laid before him. The prospect of learning the famous Fire spell instantly was simply too good to pass up.

His orange glare met the red eyes. There was a lingering feeling he would regret this decision, but he silently slid a red rupee across the counter. With a silent, fanged grin, the Poe seemed to activate some mechanism beneath the desk. The magical bubble around the Fire Crystal vanished, and Guy quickly swiped it.

"Good doing business with you," the Poe grinned mischievously. Guy gave a reluctant nod, before shuffling off.

((I honestly hadn't thought of adding the augment, but yeah, that's completely fine as long as you pay the normal Augment cost for your character. :rpt: I'm doing the same thing, getting the augment for Fire. Guy loses 30 rupees.))

(Double post. :tpr: If anyone is lurking, today is the last day to get these items at these prices.)

Three feet of what appeared to be solid armor approached the desk, holding a weapon far too large for the size of its body. Sienna's oddly-deep voice came forth, "Floormaster... eh?"

She had assumed her brother had been shitting her, but it all appeared to be as he described. Under normal conditions, Sienna felt as though she was utterly incapable of casting magic--magic's for nerds, wimps too weak to hold a real weapon, and crazy people. Of course Sienna wasn't crazy, what are you talking about. Still, if this truly was a case of swiping crystals and instantly absorbing the knowledge of the spell... maybe she actually could use it.

Sienna made a mental note to, in case the spell doesn't work, return to maim the Poe in at least three different ways before finally ending its miserable little undeath. Could Poes meet death? Maybe, maybe not, but she was pretty sure she would be able to make one wish it could die...

...But anyway. Sienna abruptly tossed a red rupee, a yellow rupee, and a blue rupee--35 in all--onto the countertop. If memory served, and it didn't always, that red rupee had been a special "gift" from a certain unusual Deku Scrub. Sienna hoped she had forgotten about that experience, but... it remained. It was too bad she didn't have time to break that girl's arm when they last met.

The Poe slowly pushed the crystal towards her, and she clutched it in her grip. Sienna hoped it would not break. Crystals had a bad habit of breaking whenever she grasped hold of them. So fragile...

(Summon Floormaster get. Saria agreed to have Wiki lend Sienna 20 roop. Sienna loses 15 of her own roop. She has a single roop remaining.)
