I don't know how to edit the name so i made another thread w/o the WIP unless there's a way for me to change the name on my thread here please delete this one because i don't know how to do that here ether

Appearance:

Erick is a slim person due to him usually eating two meals a day, he has a light skin color, and has light brown hair. His eyes are a shade of dark green with a slight hint of blue, his height is 5'10, and is around 167 lbs. His outfit usually consists of blue, red, and yellow short sleeve shirts and black, brown, and green shorts. Sometimes he wears a purple long shirt and blue pants usually when the weather is cold. He has a pin that he wears on his shirt, usually on his left shoulder, that is Nayru's symbol, It has no practical use as it's only a decorative pin made by a child.

Personality:

Erick is a naturally curious individual, ever since he was five he constantly wandered what all the island looked like and after he thought he had explored everywhere he then thought about the rest of the world. He likes to read specifically history books, before he had some interest in them, but after he learned about how he got to Windfall Island, he wanted to get his hands on any book about history and current events he could. Erick was a shy kid growing up, he never talked much to the other kids and mostly kept to himself, except for one Zora who became his best friend, he had a better time talking to adults but even then he was still shy towards them. Now he's able to talk to others but he's still a bit shy, he doesn't like to bother others unless he needs to. Erick likes to keep an open mind when trying new things or meeting new people who have interesting lifestyles, no matter what someone chooses to do if they are a good person then he'll most likely want to be there friend.

Background:

Erick is a orphan, or to be more accurate, he was abandoned when he was a baby. One night he left at an orphanage doorstep, in a basket, and with a note that said, "His name is Erick Marten, please take care of him.", In the basket was a Lens of Truth, Blue Roc's Feather, and a book about basic magic. Erick grew up in the orphanage mostly keeping to himself as apposed to playing with the other kids, he was too shy to try and get involved. This kept going until he was 4 when a new kid was put in the orphanage she was a 5 year old blue Zora named Julia Tran, at first when she approached him he was just as shy towards her as the others but as she continued to talk to him again and again he slowly became less shy with her and they started to become good friends, and eventually best friends.

Shortly after Erick turned 5 years old he began to wander about what was on the island imagining about treasures, unknown ruins, or forgotten temples. It wasn't long before he wanted to see all of the island, and after he talked to Julia about this she wanted to come too, so they asked the person in charge of the orphanage Jack Wood, who they just called Jack, if they could explore the island but he told them when they where older, they where disappointed about this but patently waited until the next month when they asked again with the same result. This kept on going until Erick turned 8 when they where both given permission to explore the island. They where both excited about this and immediately left town to explore the island and while they didn't find the treasures or ruins they had imagined, they had explored the entire island by the time they where both ten, at least they think they did. When they explored, Erick always seemed to steer them away from any wild predators that where on the island, something always told him to stay away from certain areas.

As Erick waited for him and Julia to be given permission to explore the island he decided to read books from the library provided in the orphanage, he read anything he found on the shelf, the books he usually read was fiction, biographies, and history both B.G and A.G, the books taking place in the B.G era he found the most enjoyable. On his tenth birthday he got a present from Julia that he still has today, a pin that is in the shape of Nayru's symbol, and she also made one that's Farore's symbol. Erick kept a very close eye on this pin making sure to never lose it, clean it when it got dirty, and put it in his pocket whenever he had to walk though a bush or do something where he though he could lose it.

One day a family from the mainland came to the orphanage looking for a child, and after looking for a few days they decided to adopt Julia, and they weren't moving to Windfall. When Erick learned about this he was devastated, the only friend he had there was going away and he didn't know if they would meet again. He ran to his room and began to cry, he did this for five minuets not thinking about anything, and it was at this moment, with his mind clear, that he thought of something, something that he never thought of in all his time spent at the orphanage, "Where did I come from.". After he calmed down he went and asked Jack how he got to Windfall and why he was put in the orphanage. When he was told of the night he arrived and shown the note that was found with him (but not told of the other items), he got curious about his parents, that curiosity fueled his imagination, his imagination then made him wonder what the rest of the world was like, and then he decided that he wanted to explore the rest of the world and find his parents.

On the day Julia was leaving they both said goodbye and made a promise to each other that they would meat up again someday and explore the world together like they did there on Windfall. The next day, and for the rest of his stay on windfall, he studied almost non-stop on any history and biography books he could find looking for any mention of anyone with the last name Marten, unfortunately no book he read had any lead he could follow.Erick started to skip lunch more and more days at a time as he studied until he stopped having lunch all together, as he read more history books, sometime after he turned thirteen he started to notice something that he thought was interesting, he couldn't find any books that take place before 135 B.G, this got him curious, "If I can find something that predates that year, I could get my name out there and maybe my parents will come looking for me!", he thought to himself.

When Erick turned fifteen he got some very interesting birthday presents from Jack, the three items that was found with Erick. Erick asked Jack where he got them and Jack told him they came with him, When Erick asked why he wasn't told of these items when he asked about his parents and why he's getting them only now, Jack said that he wanted to wait for the right time to give him them, and seeing the dedication Erick was showing to finding his parents was what convinced Jack to give him the items. After Erick tested the feather and lens he read and studied that book for about four months and learned how to use Message, he was going to learn more from it but as he was reading it he accidentally dropped it in the ocean, thankfully the area was shallow so he could go in and get it but the damage was already done, the words had become unreadable and the book became useless, Erick still kept it though, someone might recognize it or something.

When he turned eighteen he decided that he was prepared and wanted to leave Windfall Island, when he told Jack this he smiled and gave him three things, a Adventure Pouch, some rupees, and a boat ticket to Mido in three days. Jack wished him luck and said that he hopes that he'd visit sometime, Erick promised that he would and thanked him for all he's done for him. Erick packed his things In his new bag and eagerly waited for the day the boat leaves. Three days passed and Erick never ran faster in his life before, as he got to the harbor, Jack was waiting to see him off, they said there goodbyes and Erick boarded, the boat left and as Erick looked back at Windfall one last time, he wondered just what was awaiting him on the mainland.
