    Physicality & Attire
Dorian stands tall for Rito standards, at a height of 6'4" yet weighing only 70 lbs thanks to his avian heritage. He is particularly thin and toned, his lanky body coated with thin layers of white muscle. As a Rito who cannot fly, Dorian puts his slender to great use at sprinting, running, and leaping great distances. Though the man was already a particularly talented jumper on his own, with Roc's Cape he soars to insane heights with ease. Meanwhile, his invaluable Bunny Hood combined with his fleet feet allows him to outpace even Lynels.

Dorian's body is almost completely covered in thin, slick feathers of a particularly dark and earthy brown. White tufts appear only across his chest and the front portion of his neck below his beak. His beak itself is a bit long by Rito standards, featuring a slight downward hook at its tip reminiscent of a typical eagle beak. A trio of claw marks have permanently scarred the left half of his face, preventing feathers from growing there, and cracking the corner of his beak. Like most of his race, Dorian has piercing eyes of a crimson color, and quickly-growing thin hair of an off-white color. He keeps his in a small ponytail, which is typically hidden underneath a helmet of some kind.

When it comes to garb, Dorian is almost seen in some kind of armor. As he prefers his signature mobility and leaping attacks, he favors any kind of metal which affords as much agility as possible. His current armor focuses on a steel scalemail vest, outfitted with small spaulders on his shoulders. Thin plates overlaying like large square scales slide over his arms. A kilt of metal plates covers his hips, though his lanky legs themselves are only protected by relatively lightweight leather armor. As with most Rito, he leaves his tough yellow talons unarmored so as to allow them to freely grasp, claw, leap, and sprint.

His Bunny Hood--which he prefers to call a Hare Hood-- is dyed white, and typically worn high around the back of his neck, not unlike a small scarf. Just beneath it flows a long white Roc's Cape, with crimson trim instead of the usual blue.

    Weapons & Equipment
Although it might be a bit cliché, Dorian feels most comfortable fighting with the old sword-and-board combo. A small but sturdy round shield is strapped to his left forearm, painted with a fading gold-and-red design depicting Valoo, feathers, and a few other traditional Rito symbols.

At his left hip is sheathed his trusty estoc, a type of longsword designed to be thin, light, and apt enough to pierce thick hide or armor. Its grip is long enough that he can grasp it with both hands if need be, as he often does when going on the offensive. This sword's hilt appears to be of a gold color, but is only a simple form of painted wood, with a small red gem seated on either side of the hilt where it meets the blade.

Opposite his sword, two smaller all-purpose single-edge knives are sheathed on Dorian's right hip. Each has a blade of about six inches, and is primarily used for hunting and utility. He can still use them in combat if desperate, either for melee or thrown for a projectile attack.

Dorian prefers to travel light and survive off wilderness when he can. Even to do this much, however, he must carry some basic supplies with him. He typically caries a simple sack-sealed-with-rope over his shoulder. Its typical contents include a few sturdy bottles, rations, rope, a grappling hook, a compass, a detailed map of Hyrule, and a few other trinkets.

    Personality
As might be expected of a man with a military upbringing, Dorian is very dutiful and has a strong personal sense of honor. When he has a mission in mind or a clear goal in sight, his mind and person become entwined deep in seeing it through in the most efficient and appropriate means he can manage. As such, he likes to formulate plans, or be part of a team which all agrees on a concise objective. His duty follows into his exercise routine and upkeep of his personal armaments, both of which are polishing in tip-top shape virtually at all times.

Dorian's personality strengths include an emphasis on task organization, direct and honest people skills, and his surmountable self-confidence. He has a slight weakness for wanting to quietly strengthen and aid anyone who trusts him enough to do so, but often does it in a rather harsh way--like giving a subordinate more work so he becomes better at it, or being brutally honest with a matter someone needs to hear. These facets make him a formidable leader of soldiers, but come off as an insensitive brute to those not conditioned towards the hard life of militants and physical laborers. This nature of his is perhaps why most of his friends and associates refer to him as "Captain," despite the fact he no longer actively serves in a militarized force.

The man at times has a difficult time relaxing or letting go, always a bit too tense or intent on finishing the objective--or finding a new one. Furthermore, despite having strong leadership qualities, he has a hard time understanding or relating to people he does not already understand, or are not as serious or goal-oriented as he himself is. Despite this, he rarely gets nervous around people. He often considers himself brave and secure to a fault, as he more often than not charges courageously into battles he cannot win, and occasionally struggles to relate to people who aren't as secure in themselves as he appears to be.

In spite of his former military status, Dorian has taken it upon himself to root out as much of Ganon's forces and followers as he can. Most of his days are spent formulating and executing strategies to root out isolated groups of monsters who remain under the Evil King's command.

    Backstory
Dorian's parents--a carpenter and a housewife--were born and raised on Dragon Roost Island itself in a traditional Rito fashion, gaining their wings as they came of age, and learning traditional Rito crafts. At the time, the race rarely merged into Hyrule proper, but this couple was one of the few who did. With expansions going on in Lon Lon at the time, a carpenter's skills were particularly useful and highly valued. To make a long story short, a temporary move became a permanent one, and Dorian became the second of two Klaar children born hundreds of miles from their homeland. Because of this, he was forced to live up in a fashion more inline with Hylian culture than his own Rito heritage. Though the Klaar family came into upper middle-class, after the boom expansion their funds rapidly depleted, until moving back became a practical impossibility. As such, Dorian himself was unable to visit Valoo and gain his wings at the proper age.

Unlike seemingly most of his kin, he never saw this as a disadvantage--he lived around many people who couldn't fly, after all. His body wasn't as hard or heavy as theirs, but he could sprint and leap like none other in Lon Lon. Compared to the solid-boned Hylians, a then-teenage Klaar become an incredible athlete. While his elder sister took after their father's carpentry, Dorian himself focused on learning what he could of Rito and Hylian hunting techniques. With bow and spear combined with his natural athleticism, Dorian became an adept hunter by the time he was a young adult. It felt like any game could become his quarry, if he had a bit of knowledge and a bit of planning. He gradually assembled a small band of young hunters, most of whom were wingless Rito like himself. These Rito were able to use cover effectively like land-bound Hylians, but their lightweight bodies let them pounce rapidly onto unwary prey, or even chase them down with sprinting speed. Mostly in jest, the Rito called themselves the Eagle Knights--or, in Ancient Hylian, the Fokka. Dorian's outgoing personality and mind for tactics ended up making him the de facto leader, before he nor anyone else realized it.

Right when the self-titled Eagle Knights were becoming a renowned band of hunters throughout Lon Lon and Castle Town, it happened. Ganon invaded. Tales of his mercilessness spread, and all of Lon Lon knew the sheer mindlessly cruel destruction at the hand of his forces. Dorian--and a few of his fellow Knights--knew they needed to fulfill their duty to Hyrule, to serve a purpose greater than themselves, and protect the lands so precious to them. He enlisted into the Hyrule Guard, with the sole condition his hunting skills would be put to use.

The intensive training Dorian received, and the battles he soon faced on the field of war, rapidly honed his hunting skills into an art of combat. What innocence he had was soon lost, seeing his brothers in arms die beside him. Dorian became a soldier through and through, living and breathing the intense military life. His skill, confidence, and natural leadership were recognized by his superiors. He was rapidly promoted through the ranks, becoming an Officer at a young age, and soon recognized as Captain Dorian Klaar in charge of his own sizeable squad--some of whom still remembered him as Captain of the Eagle Knights hunting squad. He successfully led several minor campaigns over the years which followed. In one particularly fierce battle, a Dinolfos broke through the ranks in a wild frenzy to take out the captain. In short, Dorian survived--but with three gash marks raked across his face, and his entire neck and chest burned to black. Looking back, he's still surprised he survived with as few injuries as he did.

A field medic practicing Nayru's magic was able to mend the burn on his chest for the most part--causing the feathers there to only grow in white--but his face would be permanently scared. As a result of these injuries, Dorian was given early retirement--much to his own protests. Not long since that day, Dorian still retains respect those who know him, and many still refer to him as the good Captain--and as a Fokka; an Eagle Knight. Even without the direct support of the Hyrulean military, he still seeks to thwart Ganon--or whatever forces of the Evil King he can find. Using what contacts and friends he has, combined with his inherent prowess and military experience, Dorian still leads small campaigns to root out evil forces where he can.

I may be (way) out of practice, but everything seems to be in order to me. Neat character, I like the little bit of lore it adds to Lon Lon.

    Good to go!
