Cain is a slightly taller than average Hylian but has a heavier upper body build. He has shoulder length dark brown hair that it clubbed into a pony tail. His face is tanned and leathery from years of being out in the Hyrulian sun with green eyes, and his face is framed by saber like pointed ears. On the right side of his face has a nasty scar running up the length of his jaw and up past his ear and into his scalp, a second set of scars can be found on his left arm which looks as if something had dug its claws into his bicep, and a tattoo can be found on his left fore arm which is of a black orb wreathed in a purple flame.

He wears a light set of what could be considered adventurers garb of a white long sleeved shirt under a maroon vest with light brown pants and black riding boots. Over all of this is a dark grey and well worn cloak and hood that works as a kind of light armor.

    Personality:

First and foremost Cain is slightly bitter and world weary, he has gone past the naivete of youth and has started to enter the period of life where he is not worried about speaking his mind or being accused of being stubborn or set in his ways. He could be considered as patient but that is a generalization and could be seen as slow to act. That would be an unfair assumption how ever as when he does enter a fight he can move with a purpose.

He may not be the smartest Hylian in the world but never the less his mind has a strict military discipline. He was after all trained as a Hyrulian soldier, his mind can pick up on the tactical details of a situation and work at some semblance of a working solution. This doesn't mean he's a consummate strategist, he understands this about himself and thus does not take long term leadership roles. In short he'll never be a General.

    Background:

Playing by the rules only works when every one plays by the rules. This would be the idea that passed through Cains head as he marched along with about a thousand other fools. The man leading them being the king of the fools shouting prattle and sentiments "We shall retake Rauru!" he'd shout as the Hyrule army marched down through the Tantari desert. It wouldn't take long before Ganons forces would hear of an army marching to reclaim a conquered village.

The ambush was swift and hard hitting. The Hyrule army was out numbered three to one and to make matters the idiot leading them upon seeing this ambush fled the scene of battle. He was subsequently slaughtered. An ambitious soldier took to shouting commands and became the defacto leader for the doomed skirmish. The Hyrule army was formed up and for their disadvantage, lack of experienced leadership and surprise gave as good as they got.

War wagons were set on fire and horses and other beasts of burden began to panic and in a short amount of time the Hyrule army was over ran. Cain was some where in the middle of this debacle and as he fought for his life was gored in his stomach by a bullbos. Every thing went black after that and he was left for dead.

    But he wasn't, dead.

His next memory was waking up in a shepherds tent on the edge of the desert "You have been asleep for quite some time" an exotic and feminine voice told him through a haze of grogginess and soreness. He was being nursed back to health by a small nomadic tribe of Gerudo. He spent some time on crutches, but soon he was something just above an indentured servant. He had a roof over his head, food in his belly all be it mutton for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but it was hot and didn't taste funny, but that was about it.

As the days turned into weeks, Cain grew stronger once again and began patrolling the grazing valleys for the herds. He was never meant to be a farmer or a shepherd, he was too restless and felt like moving. As he contemplated this, a wandering band of moblins plodded into his field of vision looking for an easy meal. Cain proved effective at stopping the marauders with little more than a shepherds crook and a stick.

"So the man can fight" mentioned the matriarch of the tribe with a raised eye brow. A skilled warrior was always valuable no matter where they might be found. Cain was paid better though still not much, he was trained in the Gerudo ways of combat. With the rupees he had earned he purchased an exotic sword and some armor.

Like all things this was bound to end as well. Eventually the shepherd tribe sold their sheep to Hylian refugees. During this meeting most of the sheep were traded to the refugees and Cain went with them as well.

War continues, those loyal to Ganon hunted those that were not. Sacrifices had to be made, qualms about fighting fair gave way to fighting to win. Magics typically used by the enemy were used to fight the enemy and so his life continued.
