Julius Surgate was, for once, not very busy. All his orders-- from both the Hyrulean Guard, and others -- had all finally been fulfilled. The other orders weren't too noticeable at this point, and he had forged his portion of the blades so well that some of them had even been gifted to Generals. Only the most top-quality, best of the best swords were given to Generals, if that said anything.

Julius was reading through a collection of weapon-forging techniques, already having used and even invented some of the best of them. He idly browsed through, seeming to fall asleep.

Closing his book, he picked up a more ancient tome on weapons, hoping to possibly gleam something that he hadn't before. His writings had somehow extended past the volume of the book, so he continued it in a separate log. Sitting at his desk, he opened both, hoping to gleam something that would push him over the edge-- a new technique, a new method of sharpening... No. Whatever this book had in secrets, he had taken from it directly, and thus there were no more secrets to uncover. He would have to prove himself, somehow.

"If only there was a way..." he muttered to himself, still thinking about that axe that was forged of both Goron Iron and Splinter Crystal. He had recently rediscovered Master Ore, a feat that in and of itself was remarked as spectacular. "There must be a way..." He dragged himself up from his desk, intent on discovering it.

Wearing his raiment along with a relatively simple pair of trousers, he stood at his forge. Glaring into the embers, he suddenly realized something.

Something about how Master Ore itself behaved.

With a renewed vigor, he ran towards his desk, almost running right into his wolfos-dog hybrids. He frantically searched for a piece of paper that wasn't scribbled on-- he had such an ostentatious collection that it was almost impossible for him to find one. Settling on half-scribbled parchment wasn't an easy choice.

He began writing. Writing about how, with enough skill, it could somehow harmonize the two separate materials, just like it could theoretically harmonize many other materials. Of course, no one had actually done it, even among the many other smiths whom the Hyrulean Guard counted on for their weapons.

With this, he realized, he could finally make a Goron Iron blade. Not only that, but with Splinter Crystal.
