"Don't tell me what to do!" Rika spat out along with poopy soil(gross), digging himself partially out of the muck he had found himself driven in. Eve had a point, though- that girl seemed to be much more of a threat than the fodder mindlessly charging them. Aimlessly setting her ablaze could prove to be a dangerous tactic for the forest, however. Instead, after pulling himself out of the swamp, Rika held his palm forward at the slow moving Lucia. It seemed almost unresponsive to the glowing circle that had formed underneath, and in moments, moss was torn asunder by the spiked pillar erupting from its feet. Its body seemed to wail, but no noise came out. Countless vines shot out aimlessly, looking to strike something- anything. Trees, Koroks, and Kokiri alike were impaled or ensnared by the vines.

So much for avoiding a fire. With little option left, Rika launched at Lucia its harbinger of death; the Fire spell. A direct hit on its body sent it immediately bursting into flames, which shot out across the many vines sticking out of its body. Such contact with the marsh fumes sent it sparking through the air and setting the area itself ablaze.

It was definitely time to get out of there. Rika had already begun trailing after Eve before the Fire spell was shot, but the two of them were not completely in the clear just yet. Rika had to slide and leap to avoid flaming, plant tendons violently lashing around while they roasted Korok and Kokiri like shish kabobs. Yet, the burning vines were unable to support such weight- especially that of the Kokiri,- and after a couple swings began to break and brittle away. It was only a matter of time before Lucia burned away entirely, along with the zombies in its path. The only question was if Rika and Eve could escape its reach unscathed.

Having a great head start outrunning the onslaught of vines, Eve took regular looks behind to make sure the mage was still coming. She smirked petulantly in spite of him, ultra smug about not still being back there. Some of the undead Koroks were fast enough to catch up to her. On their little shriveled Korok Copters, they were surprisingly swift. Eve unbagged some Deku Nuts and pitched them at the oncoming crowd. The small flashes and snaps actually didn't seem to be enough to stop them.

Eve ran a decent way away from the swamp clearing. Swatting and flailing at the floral zombies seemed to be ineffective. Eve lost her breath, stopped, and then started to jump up and down. She windmilled her arms and screamed as the dirty little tree boys encroached on her. Whips of flame flashed in the air-- the trails of light coming from her now red-hot fists. Sparks danced as she made the twirling Korok leaves black and crisp with heat.

What was immediately strange was that after the Koroks turned to dust on the ground, Eve noticed she was on a cleared path of some sort. There was some kind of trail this far out in the woods? This must have been proof that they were nearing the place that everyone was talking about. Although, that wasn't close to what Eve was thinking about. She was jumping up and down on the blackened dust of the Koroks. She was really going at it. Bouncing and cramming her heels into the soil. She pounded the charred bits of Korok into the deepest depths of the earth. Then she started to twist her hips. Eve broke into a dance, an excited childish jig, right there in the open.

Torched vines seared against decrepit wood, igniting them on contact. That was at least the second forest fire they had caused that day. Why did everything Rika and Eve do together end in fire? It was as if they had some sort of curse, some whimsical angel of pyromancy lingering over their heads and influencing any sparks. At least this time, it was burning through evil and corruption, though Rika hoped it would not spread beyond the corruption's domain.

Rika quickly escaped the vine's reach, though it continued to thrash for several seconds, taking Korok and Kokiri pursuing after the duo alike down. Eventually, its thrashing came to a halt, and its movements ceased entirely. Lucia Verde was dead. Again.

The Kokiri had essentially been left in their dust, but the zombified Korok were still in hot pursuit- though, they seemed more interested in catching Eve, who had charged out first and was a decent distance ahead. Rika had no issue slicing and dicing apart the rare Korok that dared to flutter by him aggressively. Luckily, Eve decided to stop and have a hot-blooded temper tantrum, leaving Rika plenty of time to catch up.

Eve shredded the undead Korok into an unrecognizable pile of wood and mush in an over the top and unnecessary display of violence. "I can tell you're having fun, but we should keep moving before any stragglers catch up with us- or any new threats appear." Rika interrupted her stomp-y dance while he examined the pathway ahead of them. While it was far from a hiking path, it was clear this trail had been purposefully cleared to make it easier to traverse. It certainly wasn't the braindead zombies that did this, right? Did that mean there was some kind of person behind this, with enough intelligence to do something so deliberate? Then it was possible that this corruption- and the monstrosities they had faced- were not simply leftovers from Ganon's onslaught some time ago. At the very least, it was not the result of a natural denizen of the forest; no creature that lives in Kokiri Forest would have any need for a trail specifically carved out for them.

With these thoughts in mind, Rika glanced back over to Eve. "It's likely there will be more for you to stomp on further ahead." He encouraged? her, before continuing down the trail they had found.

The trail led onward for a good handful of paces, and though they caught glimpses of the occasional zombified Kokiri or Korok, the low numbers on both sides made it simple to simply keep moving and avoid an altercation all-together. The path quickly reached its end, and lead to a makeshift structure of sorts. Large stone boulders of various sizes stacked against and on each other to form rudimentary walls and ceilings, set unnaturally but seemingly impractically. The fact it was not collapsing on itself could only be the result of some magical binding holding the stone in place, particularly in the makeup of the ceiling. From a glance to the side, Rika could see this stone extend for some short distance- it had, at the very least, a few small rooms to it. A wide opening in the stone was met at the tip of the trail, and a dim light could be seen flickering from its opening. Was this a home of some kind? There was no doubt to be had- someone lived here, and it was not a normal creature. No normal creature could live in this kind of inhospitable environment- not even Eve could.

"Before we enter, let us hold the slightest bit of awareness- inside here is possibly the source of this outbreak. Should it be an intelligent creature, there is no doubt they possess powerful, evil magic, so we should be on our guard." He warned Eve, before moving to peek in the structure, then enter should it seem empty.

As they made their way down the trail, Eve's mood slowly crawled back down to how she felt after that Gerudo berating. Her attention turned back to her arms. The dark interior of the boulder-enclave might not be so hard to navigate, she thought. Small flames emanated off of her arms, providing a glow to the surroundings.

The interior seemed a lot larger on the inside than it had seemed from outdoors. Something wasn't right about how quiet and empty it was. . . at first at least. Eve waved her arms to thwart off a small cloud of moths that had appeared. Luckily the flames were too much for their frail little bodies. The winding pathways were hard to navigate, at first. To negate those two "at firsts" things slowly began to straighten out and fill with decorum. She noticed a chest of drawers, some banners. . . including several flasks and beakers on top of the various furniture. They were entering some kind of old laboratory.

"Who's there?!" shouted a voice from deep down the hallway.

Something told Eve that the central laboratory was right down that hallway, and that they were in some big trouble. Eve stepped out into a large torch-lit chamber. The voice had come from much deeper into the facility, so this must have been some kind of obstacle room. Walls were stacked high, with short gateways in between. These gateways were blocked by large green glass-like bubbles of transparent material. Eve pushed her skeletal hands into the green bubbles. It was hard like steel, they would have to find a way to turn them off.(or learn how to fly) Eve searched the whole area for some kind of switch or locking mechanism.

"Cherries, we need to find the shut-off for these stupid wall machines." Eve pointed out.

"Who IS THERE?!" shouted the voice again from deeper in the hallway.

With a quick snap, a small, purple wisp formed aside Rika's head. This, coupled with Eve's unnecessarily dangerous arms essentially eliminated all manner of darkness in the dusty, abandoned room, and indeed, it was abandoned. A thick, musty stench pervaded the room, and it really seemed as though no one lived there. That was, at least, until a raspy voice proved those thoughts wrong. Rika promptly ignored the voice's query. "That's our wizard." He called to Eve, following her into the narrow hallway.

At first, it seemed to be a rather straightforward gateway from progressing forward. Translucent, presumably magical aquamarine-like barriers barred their path forward. No barrier was impenetrable to Rika, however. He was surprised to see Eve try to take such a logical approach to removing the walls, rather than the more brute-force method he was about to propose in but a few moments. What kind of name was cherries? Rika was not sure if he preferred that to the other names she called him, but it mattered little either way he supposed.

Rika lazily tossed an Aqua Grenade at the barrier, but the water drained down the side of the barrier effortlessly. At the very least, it was resilient to magic. "Eve, do what you're best at and hit it with your hammer." He ordered, even though Eve was not even very good at doing that. As he did, though, the voice called back again, this time hoarse with impatience and anger.

Once again, Rika chose to ignore the annoying voice. After a moment with no response, the voice once again boomed back.

"Mock me, will you? Your impudence will END YOU! YOU WILL REGRET YOUR MISTAKE OF COMING HERE!" The raspy, vile voice roared. In an instant, the area around them shifted, twisted, and distorted. A moment later, they were in a large room, with a massive, stone opening- presumably an exit- situated at one of the four walls some distance away. Surrounding them were a countless number of the translucent, sickeningly off-teal walls.

"Test me, will YOU? SEE HOW YOU LIKE SUFFERING IN MY MAZE UNTIL YOUR LAST BREATH, HAHAHAHAHA!" The voice called out mockingly.

Rika instantly spoke to Eve. "I already found the exit, let's go." Then, he shouted back to the voice, "What kind of fool tries to trap a Kokiri in a maze?! You really are stupid!" He stuck his tongue out at nothing in particular. For Rika, Navigating any sort of maze was a trivial matter, especially one of magical origin. The voice didn't respond, but its laughter continued. And continued. It didn't stop. It was a little annoying.

"Hit with my uh? Where are we?" Eve squeaked.

Everything had changed suddenly as the raspy voice berated them. It was almost instantaneously that Rika found the exit to the odd maze. Eve didn't think she had that ability. . . it explained why she always got so lost. She followed Rika around the sides of the barriers and out to the exit.

"Kyeee haha we sure showed him!" Eve reeled.

They took one step out of the door and the surroundings changed to another maze. This one looked the same as the other maze, on account of all the greenish-blue walls enclosing them in. Eve scoffed, turned a corner and ran into a lean Beamos. A loud, mechanical siren noise bleeped. The air was pierced by the noise as a thin beam of light magic crashed into Eve's chest. It exploded on her torso and sent her back. Some of the pain and damage was eased by her Golden outfit underneath her disheveled outfit. In fact, her original outfit was redesigned with a big round hole with singed edges. The shimmering wrappings peeked out through the giant tear.

"YOU DARE MAKE A JOKE OF MY MAZE?!" the voice broke out through the chamber.

"Ow gods," Eve coiled up around the corner "we need to find this jerk."

Eve paused, assessing the situation and cringing with pain. They couldn't do much with that Beamos in the way, so she tried not to think too far ahead. Granted, thinking ahead was also kind of beyond her abilities.

"I can't do much, try to blind that Beamos." she concluded.

Rika frowned. He knew how this game would continue, and it was already growing boresome. These mazes were trivial for him to traverse, and as such posed little obstacle to them- so long as the two of them were not apart from one another, at least. Should Eve separate from him, things would likely prove fatal for her, a fact the dark wizard had hopefully not picked up on. Yet, so long as he kept throwing endless mazes at the two of them, there was little they could do except go through the motions of running through them. This was the worst kind of game, and a complete waste of time. He was done with messing around, and just wanted to blow the wizard's skull from his shoulders and end this charade.

At least he was able to see Eve get blasted by the Beamos, so there was something amusing here. Then, the girl seemed to have some sort of a plan. This should have alarmed Rika- not because she was actually thinking, but because in reality she probably wasn't,- but he decided to play along out of curiosity, even if he could dispatch it far more suitably from a range. "I'll take its attention. After me, then." He replied, before darting out beyond the corner. The mechanical hum of the Beamos quickly stopped once its sights were set onto the swift moving Kokiri, the low buzz turning into a panicked heart-pounding beeping. The hallway was narrow- running past it would prove tough. There were a handful of meters between him and the steel contraption, and another dark corner waited just beyond it. With him on this side, there was little Eve could do to strike it- that left him one option.

Rushing towards the Beamos, the Kokiri pounced high into the air above its high-speed beam, which crashed into the wall behind them and crumbled it to pieces. Landing on its head, Rika pushed further on, bouncing past the Beamos and to the other side. Now if it targeted him, it'd give Eve the freedom to play golf. Surely enough, its head rapidly rotated and began aiming towards Rika once again. For now, he'd retreat to the other corner, and Eve could strike once he had returned- shit.

The Kokiri's pace stumbled and slowed with the staggering lunge of a zombified Kokiri from beyond the corner. A quick, hasty slash of his scythe was enough to send the inhuman creature back, but it delayed him more than enough. A searing, hot streak of light magic struck Rika in the back, sending him crashing forward to the zombie he had just diced open a mere moment before. A hole was burned on the back of his bright red clothes, though you likely couldn't tell, as his skin was seared a similar red. The Beamos's head made yet another swift rotation before its sights were set on the stunned Kokiri once more.

With her lips scrunched up into little dimples on both sides of her mouth, Eve dropped down on the aiming Beamos. She side-swiped the big pulsing eye with the bulk of her hammer. As expected, she approached par on the first hole, the eye sailing and bouncing around the walls of the maze. It was awfully like a silly game of mini-golf, especially with all the wizards and zombies.

The metallic ping of shock that went up her hammer went into her weak and burnt arms, that stung quite a bit. Eve staggered back and stabilized herself, and supported her body with her shoulder against one of the walls. Maybe using the hammer should be a last resort from now on, she thought. Years of deadlifting, wasted. Although she didn't know if it was actually considered deadlifting at all if it involved Snappers and Terrorpins. She caught her breath and looked up to the ceiling.

"WITH WICKED ZOMBIES IN A HAZE, CAN YOU REALLY SOLVE MY MAZE?" the voice cackled.

"Sod off! You shrill rotty dodger!" Eve screamed back. Her weird dialect was starting to show through.

Eve hoped Rika would figure out what was keeping the place going on and on. . . there had to be some kind of secret. There was a small hole in the wall where the Beamos attacked Rika. Eve looked over at it, it seemed to just lead into more of the maze. She really just wanted to pound the seedy bastard in his shorts. But it was a bit hopeless if she couldn't overcome whatever weird illusion this was. She leaned back on the busted Beamos. The light in the room flickered. The magic power of the Beamos was on some sort of circuit with the entire maze. The glowing green walls were on the same circuit. Eve reached in and snapped apart the magical center of the thing, a weird translucent coil around a mystical-looking lozenge shaped stone. The light from the walls flickered completely out.

"There was no switch Red it was all connected. I just had to break a thing." she told to him in the overt darkness.

It was lucky she was useful for breaking things, at least.

Blurred motions waved in Rika's face for but a moment before a putrefying stench brought him back to reality. A sharp, burning sensation ripped against his back with every movement as he half-stumbled up to his feet in an attempt to ignore and push past the pain. He had completely ignored the madman's mocking commentary, and only half-registered Eve's words. "Yeah, that's good." He called out unobservant, just before he realized what that meant.

". . . We may have our solution out, and it turns out it is your specialty." He groaned out as he moved his hands and snapped to create a flickering wisp, disgruntled from his singed skin. To say it would be an inconvenience would be understating it. The immediate vicinity now illuminated, Rika motioned towards the wide opening in the wall. "I tire of his game, let us make our own path out." He spoke, before making his way towards the crumbling, darkened wall. As if on cue, the lame wizard taunted them once more.

"MAKE YOUR OWN PATH IN THIS WALL, THIS MAZE SHALL STILL BE YOUR DOWNFALL." He was getting easy to ignore at this point. Instead, passing through the makeshift passageway, Rika could see down the hallway the glowing green strands of light continued. It was just as he surmised. "We are going to disable all of these lights. This maze is rather small, anyway. If we remove its power, perhaps it will fail to function any longer; in other words, we are going to be 'breaking a thing' a few more times." Truthfully, this logic was a bit of a stretch; if the maze was simply magically oriented, this would do nothing but inconvenience them. Wandering through to the ending several times would solve nothing, though, and perhaps if they disobeyed the maze's rules enough it would annoy the wizard with way too much time on his hands into stopping this farce.

He made his way down the newly made path. Once they had entered the brightened section once more, the voice called out again.

"YOU MAY CLOAK YOURSELF IN SHADOWS, BUT NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU SEE YOUR MEADOWS." That didn't rhyme.

Rika bellowed back, "Long pause! How long did it take you to think of that one, idiot?!" Nice comeback.

They had reached their next target. Another beamos, sitting in a hallway, surveying seemingly innocuously. Hovering alongside it were two humanoid children clattered in leaves and gripping trumpets, bouncing around joyfully in circles around the beamos. Their skin was pale and their eyes red; they seemed more akin to Skull Kid than Kokiri, what with their energetic disposition, but there was not really much difference between an undead Kokiri and a Skull Kid, Rika supposed.

This would be more of a pain than the previous Beamos.

"HEY -- WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!!" the voice echoed back.

Eve used the dim light of Rika's spark and the dim glow of the magical batteries to find and break open yet another one. Good grief did she like breaking shit. The Skull Kids were still a problem, but she kept smashing a few things hoping they wouldn't get the drop on her. Fast as hummingbirds, they were. One of the Skull Kids ripped a clawed arm into Eve's back.

"EeeaEaaaauGhh!!" she let out a ghost-like scream.

The quickly fading in-and-out, sidestepping Skull Kids chuckled and bounced around. Evelyn bounced backward and gut-checked a bouncing imp with her hammer. The length of the pole overtook their sidestepping range, just this once because they were going in for greedy bonus attacks. The hammer recoiled back, her weary arms able to slide it back her way along the ground. With the injured Skull Kid on the ground, Eve clasped both fists over her head and dunked her arms over its head. The fiery hands concussed it in the crown of its head, and it was knocked out on the floor.

The other Skull Kid lowered his trumpet, afraid of what Eve would do with it if she got her hands on it. With most of the nodes broken, it was possible the illusion would fall and they could simply step out of the maze. What the wizard was planning elsewhere, it remained a mystery.

Terrified of the small child with the hammer, the small child with the trumpet decided to instead lunge towards the small child with the scythe. His movements slightly sluggish from the burns spread across his back, it would be difficult for Rika to fully avoid- therefore, there was another option he could take. With a swift swipe, the Skull Kid's claws lashed against Rika's skin, drawing blood against his upper bicep. As its body flung forward, it did not expect what was going to happen next, though. Rika's open hand immediately slammed down on top of the Skull Kid's skull, a roaring ball of fire crashing point-blank into its stupid hat and sending it crashing down.

Its skull had been bludgeoned and its neck snapped. There were no survivors.

"That was easier than I expected. Is this really a challenge, fool Wizzrobe?!" Rika barked, though the voice did not seem to immediately reply. Instead, the environment around the duo began to shift and warp, and after a few moments, they had returned to the hallway they were at moments- minutes? - before. Rika's sense of time was like Christmas gelatin at this point. That is to say, strangely tasting you have no idea what it actually is.

Regardless, the voice finally coughed, "F-FINE! THEN PROCEED AND FACE ME IF YOU-" Rika cut him off. "That is why we are here. You are going to die, haha." Rika mocked him, causing a small squeal to echo throughout the room. "Y-YOU WILL BE THE ONES TO DIE, INTER-"

"Yeah, whatever. Let's get this over with already. It looks like the wall blocking the hallway is gone so he's probably just up ahead." He directed his attention towards Eve, before beginning to make his way down the hall and towards the laboratory that seemed to lie towards the end of it.

"He's going to kill that asshole?" Eve hushed to herself, her crooked fist-eyes turning into heart-eyes.

She worked her way up the hallway. Something weird and technological was coming up. The devices and furniture-like huge machines were all sort of dusted and rusted. They were. . . old? It was certainly leading into a facility of sorts. This wizard, something was off about him. There was a strange diagram draped over one of the machines detailing the anatomy of a tiny fairy. Eve winced at it. Something distasteful was going on, even for her. Which was especially impressive because she had left her own guardian fairy in a bottle to rot. That never stopped being a thing that happened.

"Maybe you should. . . Red." Eve squirmed.

"S-scout ahead and see this guy first for yourself. I just want to look at something." she jittered, spewing excuses.

Eve opened a drawer in the side of a device. It had to at least look like she was hanging back for something important. The drawer was filled with bell-jars filled with green fluid, all connected to the machine internally by small tubes. The jars of fluid contained numerous small creatures, many of them difficult to identify. A small piece of parchment had "Life Force" hastily scrawled onto it. Everything was getting more disgusting by the minute. A number of other drawers, machines, containers, and the like were lined against the walls. At this point it was almost certain to Eve that the wizard would go to greater extremes in his main laboratory to draw life force and energy from anything and everything.

Eve tip-toed ahead to follow Rika inside. She looked into the dim light of the laboratory. . .

Rika was unsure what nonsense Eve was spouting about him scouting ahead. In fact, that was probably the first time he had seen her show any level of concern for subterfuge. He was unsure how effective it would even be, as well, as likely through some scouting the magic, the mad sorcerer had seemed to have had a clear view on their every movement up to this point. Perhaps proceeding first would give him an opportunity to examine further before Eve destroyed everything- not that he especially cared about that.

“Then, do not delay, lest I end him before you come.” Rika replied, completely unaware of the worry and fear she seemed to hold. Though even he would admit, the room they were in was more than concerning, even if horrific magical experiments were the norm for Wizzrobes.

Rika crept through the doorway, and a few paces down led him to another gateway. Yet unlike the other, he could hear the faint mumble- whine? – of a man? emanating from within. Jackpot. Once he got a look inside, though, his face dropped in shock- or perhaps horror, - at its contents.

“What the fuck. . . “ He couldn’t help but loose from his lips.

Spread across the laboratory were jagged pits roughly carved into the ground, thin but with varying lengths, with some stretching up to ten feet in length. A swirling, black-and-white mass of energy and terror bubbled in their concave openings. It seemed like a thick, monochrome pile of sludge, with small puffs of gas erupting as each bubble burst, letting off a foul stench that Rika could smell even from the entrance. Solid, pulsating tendrils, a splendor of dim colors like a bastardized rainbow rope, extended wildly from the various pools, mixing and intertwining without any seeming pattern and spread across the room like wild vines. There was an uncomfortable, hot thickness in the air- was this from the puddles?- that immediately made Rika’s senses almost as irritated as when talking with Bapi. It made Rika’s stomach curl and his mind spin, if for but a moment- this was different from the mere poisonous bog the forest had seen previously, Rika could tell at first glance. This was pure, corrupted magic. This was pure evil.

Lined around the death baths against the walls were various machines, though they seemed dusted and out of use like the ones they had seen before. Some had been completely tarnished, smashed and shattered to tiny pieces, where it was no longer even distinguishable as a whole object. This was all save for a massive contraption towards the end of the room, which seemed to have the various vine-like whips funneled into it. Small pulses of light could be seen running through a small handful of vines, though most were bleak and empty, completely lacking of any energy. Spread across the wall on top of hastily made shelves- some of which teetered on the verge of collapse, - were a multitude of bottles, small vials containing weakly flickering lights any Kokiri would instantly recognize as a Tiny Fairy. Some blinked more fiercely than others, while some were entirely mute. As soon as Rika stepped into the room, the flickering strengthened as the Tiny Fairies became aware of his presence, giving Rika a better understanding of its details.

“Wizzrobe, show yourself! What is this. . . abomination! This. . . this. . . affront to magic!” Rika bellowed, his eyes flaring and his voice trembling with fury. A voice permeated from nowhere in particular.

“THIS IS OUR CREATION, CHILD. THE ULTIMATE CREATION OF MAGIC.”

“Ultimate creation. . . ? Do not make me laugh, this is vile.” Rika spat out.

The voice roared. “YOU DARE MOCK OUR GREATNESS?” The room shook with the voice. “YOU WIELD MAGIC YOURSELF, I HAVE SEEN IT. SO THEN, HOW CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THIS GREATNESS?”

Rika spat at the voice. “Do not make me repeat myself. You have committed the worst sins that a mage can make, and your life shall be the cost. This is vile.”

“YOU FOOL, IF ONLY YOU TRULY UNDERSTOOD. THESE FAIRIES, THEY ARE LIMITLESS ENERGY- WITH THEM, OUR MAGIC IS ENDLESS. ANYTHING IS IN OUR GRASP.”

“Spoken like a true Wizzrobe. You do not deserve that kind of power, especially not through these means. Now show yourself, lest this talk of power be a shield for your true cowardice.”

As soon as those words escaped Rika’s lips, the shadow below him bubbled, a figure launching up from below and slashing Rika across the chest with an ear-pounding screech. The Kokiri had no time to react, blood drawing through his armor. The figure vanished into the shadows just as quickly as it had appeared, and Rika stumbled forward, his voice screaming out in pain- his mind was a cluster of fears, and though it lasted for but a mere moment, it left Rika gasping for air. The actual physical pain the slash caused was a mere scratch compared to the torment it racked on his mind.

But that slash left Rika with one realization- this was the real deal. No monster, no undead corpse tormented after death, but him. The Wizzrobe they were seeking.

"Gross, so gross." Eve pondered "What if he did all of that to me? Unacceptable."

Eve hopped and leaped into the dangerous chamber. She roared and flailed her beefy Fist-Eyes in an attempt to rush in and bust the Wizzrobe's jaw. The incomprehensible creature raised his arm quickly and an invisible power, like a glowing wind, smashed into Eve and threw her back across the room. The female Kokiri rolled on the floor and flickered dimly in the corner, close to the wall.

It was a total fake-out. Eve curled back up to her feet and hurled a Deku Nut at the Wizzrobe. Fleeting and beautiful, the nut flew through the room and reached the Wizzrobe. The lanky figure twisted his fingers around, and a bright light appeared. The Deku Nut was suddenly coming right back. The nut smashed Evelyn in the face and dazed her eyes completely. The blast of the nut had her incapacitated. Was this the real reason she sent Rika in first? It was probably just her own whimsy in the end.

Unable to say anything, Eve presumably sat there in silence, recovering--for now. The twisting shapes and and lights scattered about the room. As everything went wild, Eve was probably safer stunned at that moment.

"DON'T MOCK ME, GIRL." the corrupted mage roared.

Rika's pained pines for air slowly returned to normal, thankfully uninterrupted due to Eve's interjection. At least the girl was doing something useful. Still, inner turmoil his blow cause made it difficult to hold focus on what had been learned by Eve's attacks- did he reflect that nut, or was it an error on Eve's part? He'd have to find out on his own, it seemed.

His attention on Eve, Rika lunged his body forward, pirouetting into a spin enveloped with magical energies. A great pain on his charred body, to be sure, but it was the only attack he could guarantee would reach the madman before he continued his assault on Eve. The outer blades of energy licked at his shadowed figure for but a moment before he puddled into the depths below, amounting to little more than a scrape.

Rika knew his strategy now- the Kokiri immediately plunged the point-end of his scythe downward at his feet. At the exact same moment, the ground below him puddled, and the shadowed figure rose up, only to impale himself into the scythe straight through his arm. A grisly howl echoed as it submerged back into the depths below, a sickly, green liquid that carried a consistency similar to mucous drenching where it once was.

    Its voice echoed once more.

"WHY, YOU FFOOLS," It stuttered, pained, "IF WE CCOULD GATHER THEM ALLL, WE WWWWOULD BE ETERNALLL."

It kept referring to itself as we. . . at first, Rika had assumed it to simply be crazy, but were there allies about? "Who is this 'we'? I will show your cohorts their end as well."

"HHHEEEE ARE ALREADY GONNNE. I MMUST FINISH FFFFFOR THEMM SSSO WWWE CAN BE COMPLEEEETE."

"Is that what this is, then? Your bid for immortality? Pathetic." Rika had seen it time and time again- mortals trying to fight the end, the eventuality of their ticking clock. Many end up dying in sadness and regret of their wasted lives, and others become the mad abomination that stood before the Kokiri now. So many wish to grasp at the secret to an un-aging life the Kokiri possess, but to none does it end in happiness.

The Wizzrobe reformed nearby, and as soon as he appeared, swung his arm down in a vertical line. Trailing where his fingertips were spawned an assortment of monstrous Keese, larger than the typical ilk one might encounter, and all hued with various different colors signifying an assortment of elements. Some were cloaked in the blackest night and virtually indistinguishable from the shadows aside from their beady red eyes, while others shimmered with a cool energy. Once they were formed, the Keese made a divebomb for the duo, some directing their attention towards Rika while others assaulted the other Kokiri.

Eve wiped a tiny drop of blood off her lip.

"That's an entry-level spell! I'm not scared!" she howled at the Wizzrobe.

She watched a mob of conjured Keese spiral around the room. She was certain Rika saw it too, so she didn't bother saying "look out" or anything. As old as she was (although on record as being pretty dumb,) Evelyn was wise enough to know the Wizzrobe wasn't just after endless life. He probably wanted some sort of power, something to be remembered and feared by. Every servant of Ganon she had ever met claimed that the evil king would grant them life everlasting. Besides a certain Miniblin she had met once. That little rascal was only after money.

"You want something else too! Is it power? Or maybe a dastard like you is just looking for a soul, pheh!" Eve spat, spiteful as ever.

He was probably just after what he had so thoroughly explained he was after in his abysmal wails. Regardless, the girl has some Keese to fight off. Their cold wings harried her; shadows, ice, earth, and anything in between. She didn't think about how such rigid elements maintained flight. She managed to swat some down with her smoldering hands. The bursts of fire seeming to counteract their abilities and their defenses. Except that one Earth Keese, which made no sense. Its stoney body smashed against Eve's face. Her lip was getting swollen with all these facial attacks.

"I c-can't b-talk anymore they geep hidding my face!" she yelled with a lisp as she held the Earth Keese by the wings and shook it violently.

Rika was doing great damage to the Wizzrobe, in any case. They would probably be fine with Eve essentially fucking around uselessly for a few minutes. She threw the Earth Keese at an Ice Keese, knocking both to the ground stunned. She picked up the Ice Keese and tried to reduce the swelling on her face with it. The Burning Hands she had seemed to start melting the thing, however. She threw the half-melted Keese at where she thought the Wizzrobe was. It was hard to tell where he was really standing with his evasive magic at play. He Wizzwarped sideways to avoid the harmless thrown enemy. Eve tossed the stunned Earth Keese at where he was going to be, nailing him in the gut.

"YYYOU TRY TO HUMILIATE ME? I WILL BURY YOU IN YYYOUR OWWWNNN HUBRIS." the Wizzrobe boomed.

Enchanted though they were, Keese were still little more than a nuisance and distraction. A swift slash was all that was needed, but they served their purpose well enough for the Wizzrobe. His booming taunt echoed throughout the room, his body sinking into the shadow after Eve's strong right arm and leaving his location a mystery yet again. Their actions hadn't been futile, though- he was getting worn out. So were they, but with two against one, they would surely endure stronger.

"Tell me, Wizzrobe," He called, "are you with the Cult of Evarsi?" When that name escaped his lips, a burst of dark energy blast Rika off his feet, the Wizzrobe appearing in front of him. "SPPPPPEAK NOT THAT NAMEEEEE TO MEEEE, BOY SSSSORCERERRR. WE ABANNNNDONED THEM LONG AGOOOO." The Kokiri was sent crashing backwards, tumbling to the ground. The words, however, were not lost on him. He was familiar with them, then- but his reaction. . .was he not a member of the cult? Rika was certain these ongoings were connected to the previous incident he had encountered in the forest, but it was possible his initial assumption had been mistaken.

Regardless, the Kokiri jumped to his feet. It was clear to him that the Wizzrobe lashed out whenever it heard something that displeased it in some way.

"I believe it is time to destroy this abomination." He called out, thrusting his hand forward. Buried underneath one of the crazed jungles of dimly glowing, rainbow vines, a bright light filtered out. Just after, he turned his scythe's blade-side up, akin to how one would use a scythe in a practical sense, and scraped it across the earth. The sharp blade tore at the numerous glowing vines at his feet, splitting them in half like loose wires. As he did, a colossal spire of dirt erupted from the illuminated circle he had made, shredding the countless vines and utterly decimating them. The rainbow light filling their core almost immediately faded, all the way down to the machine in the back, as if it had been drained and sucked dry.

"Wwwwhat. . . HAVE YOU DOOOOOONEEE!" The Wizzrobe roared, his whole body lunging towards Rika without any regard for his surroundings. "OURRR CREATIONNNNNN!"

Eve composed herself as Rika distracted the mad mage. She picked herself up and wiped her face off as best she could. The cold aura of her Kingfisher dagger seemed to help the swelling on her lip. If she could get a good shot at the Wizzrobe, its sharpness might come in handy. She took another look upward. It looked more like Rika was drawing the villain's full attention.

    "Haha, I uh." she mumbled.

Was the device, were all of the machines and creatures giving the Wizzrobe his energy and power? Would he just die if they broke the lab? It was worth wondering whether he was even a Wizzrobe before all of this was created. Evelyn decided to start "helping." She ran over and began to cut on the vine-like things lining the floor. The awful wizard couldn't aggro both of them at once. She continued by throwing her dagger's long chain so that it wrapped around the Wizzrobe's legs as he chased Rika round. He tripped but caught himself. The creature let out a sharp yelp of protest.

The Wizzrobe emitted a powerful Electric Aura which traveled up the chain of her dagger and jolted Eve back onto the ground. It was more than likely the Wizzrobe knew the whole gamut of spells. Perhaps most of the spells that had been invented after he'd been stuck in this cave didn't apply however. Eve convulsed on the ground as the dagger wound off and flew back toward her.

She picked herself up and activated her Harvest Ring. A single featureless pumpkin appeared. She threw the pumpkin at his back to stagger him. To keep the evil magician occupied, she just kept harrying him. Rika seemed to be doing good damage to his machines. Better damage than she was doing on her own, so she kept pestering the Wizzrobe.

"Fukkit just break everything." she howled.

"WEE MUSSST LIVE! STAND DOWWWN!" the monster shrieked at her.

With the dark wizard dazed from the bulbous, orange gourd pounding against side, Rika continued his assault on the devices unabated. A slash here, a swipe there, the magical tubing channeling energy to the main device became minced more and more, the once lustrous light having almost faded entirely by this point. Finally, with a swift swing of his arm, a clear, damp orb left Rika's palm and soared towards the machine in the back. Colliding with it, water viciously erupted outward, smashing and destroying the relatively fragile contents of its target. The light in the room had almost entirely faded, save for two sources; first, the flickering wisp hovering at Rika's size; second, the various-hued glows exuding from the numerous Tiny Fairies lining the walls.

"N-NO..... HOW COULD YOU... EVERYTHING...." The Wizzrobe muttered, still and unmoving. He let out a noise, one that was almost akin to a cry, but it felt distinctly off from how a normal creature would weep, as if he were something attempting to imitate a cry. This sob turned into an ear-curdling wail, as powerful dark energies began emanating from its body. They were powerful enough to completely stop any advance Rika or Eve might make, and the energy soon expanded outwards in an intense wave, powerful enough to send Rika and Eve both flying off their feed and onto the ground, their body wracked with intense pain as well as their minds. Unlike before, the shadow energies were so powerful it would not simply last a moment- the effects, though lessening as time went on, would find themselves lingering for a short time.

Once the energy wave had unleashed, the Wizzrobe collapsed to the ground. "OUR... OUR..." It muttered, motionless, its energy spent.

Rika's body writhed on the ground in pain for a few seconds, and only then was he able to regain control of his motions. Though, his body had been made difficult to respond to commands, preferring to twitch on the ground, motionless.

Meanwhile, amid the chaotic spell-slinging and vine-slashing, a lone figure rose out of the murky sludge furthest in the back, its ominous figure rising up tall within the dark shadows. Though, with the light gone- and especially with the lingering darkness from the Wizzrobe's powerful wave, - it was virtually indistinguishable from the distance everyone was at- and that was if they were paying attention at all.

The clashing wail of black magic threw Eve back to the floor with Rika. Having already been thrown to the floor several times, it wasn't too long before she found herself propping herself back up again. The room was alight with chaos, but she was determined to make on her previous promise to break everything. Soon enough she had stifled back to her feet.

Dagger no longer against her face, Evelyn waved around the long chain holding the blade. She spun the cutting Splinter Crystal edge into more of the scenery. Twisting veins pulsing out of the floor were sliced apart, showering the floor with a dark sludge. It was amid all of this, that a swarm of Tiny Fairies appeared in Eve's line of sight. She made her way to the back of the wall, cutting and smashing everything.

Filling her hands with Deku Nuts, Eve went to shatter the containment cells of as many fairies as she could. The irony of this situation sort of went over the Kokiri's head. A dense storm of grateful fairies overwhelmed Evelyn's figure in the dim darkness. The cloud of light burst into a temporary illumination for the entire chamber. Almost over as soon as it had begun, Eve was given the Gift of Light. For just a moment, her wounded body shined with a gleam like the outer lining of a cloud. The fact that she definitely didn't deserve this was more or less forgotten for the time being. The fairies couldn't know any better anyway.

She looked toward the retching and crumbling Wizzrobe, who had been boring a hole into the floor with his suffering death throes. The malicious power flowing out of his face cavities drew Eve's attention to the back of the room. Something was moving nearby. . . a creature of some kind? Eve backed up a bit, still sort of shining in the meantime. She wanted to clear a path for whatever this assortment of characters was going to do next, which included that clever red kid.
