Layla looked towards Freeja, hearing the sound of casting, but there was little she could do to help against the remaining two Stalfos. At a dead, enhanced sprint she might theoretically manage the jump over, but that would leave her stranded on the other side with too little space to accomplish the return jump. The waif on the other side would have to succeed of her own power, or else escape across the chasm.

Either way, they could not move on until Freeja made it back, so Layla would just have to wait.

Scrambling backwards over the switch, the young girl hit the old tiled ground as the Stalfos struck where she had been. Keeping low, she jammed her metallic staff towards one of them, the rod quickly heating with her fire as it blasted the one Stalfos apart. She managed to bring her staff back as the other Stalfos struck with it's rusted sword, knocking Freeja to the ground. The skeletal monster descended upon her, pinning the girl as it struggled to push the blunt blade past her staff. She tried to kick it off, but batting the bones with her bare feet wasn't doing anything, leaving her trapped under the monster.

With the Stalfos hissing in her face, in her panic, Freeja reignited her staff again and twisted enough to strike the ground with the head. A gout of flames exploded from the contact, staggering the monster and singeing both of them with the magical fire. Swinging her arm wide with her rod, it caught the leg of the recovering skeleton as it exploded in flames. The crippled creature then tumbled sideways into the endless pit around them.

With a moment to catch her breath, the young lady leaped back across to where her companion stood, the way forward opened. She picked at the darkened left sleeve of her shirt, pulling it up to look at the reddened flesh. She scowled, licking her minor wound to ease the stinging. She was getting sick of these creatures.
